I built this PC for my in-laws, who wanted a budget machine that could handle 1080p/60fps gaming for under $1000, peripherals included. We went with AMD for the CPU and GPU as the 2600X and RX 580 are a great value, and we got some good deals on the motherboard, NVME SSD, and monitor as well. The Thermaltake Versa H18 TG was particularly impressive for a MicroATX case under $50 – I love the look of the full tempered glass side panel and it was very easy to work in. I decided to fully embrace the long, blue power LED on the front of the case and added a few more blue LED fans to complete the look.

Part Reviews

Using the stock cooler and not planning to overclock this machine, so picking up the 2600X for just $20 more than the 2600 made sense. The release of the 3600 has made these a bit more affordable as well... a great value at under $160.

Got a good deal on this board! The "RGB" is just a little strip by the audio noise guard and is pretty weak, but that's not really what I bought it for.

Got this for the same price as the 2.5" SSD I was planning on buying originally, so it was an unexpected bonus to get an NVMe boot drive in this build.

Video Card

Found this card on sale, really affordable option for 1080p/60fps gaming. Card sags a bit, but nothing too terrible.

Great little budget case for $50. Plenty of room for cable management, PSU shroud, and a really nice-looking tinted tempered glass side panel. Good airflow too!

Can you set the latency on the RAM or is it set because it's 19 which is really poor.

Seeing AMD in a blue themed build almost feels wrong. Is that just me?

But, seriously, very nicely done! Looks like a great entry level build, especially for that price with all the peripherals included. +1

I love the blue look and the small factor. 2.5" SSD will fit and display nicely? Is the SSD that goes attached to the mother board way faster?

Did you use a splitter for the fans?
