Description

This build is my ultimate build! I was using a budget build I made during college and since I have been working for a while now I decided it was time to upgrade and do it big! I got everything I wanted and cost was not an option! I do a little video editing and photo editing but mostly this is for gaming. I play many games ranging from warships to wow to BF4/1 to a packed steam library! Next is house and kids so this thing had to last!

Part Reviews

CPU

Very fast and handles everything you throw at it!

CPU Cooler

Keeps this i7-7700k super cool! Very quiet unless you run it on custom settings over 70% fan speed.

UPDATE It is now the end of October and my x62 pump has failed! I am RMAing it asap. Depending on the customer service and process, I'll update further. Dropping rating down since the unit failed in under a year. Searched online and found that many of the new series pumps are failing. Recommend looking into other units or air cooling since I'm not out of a PC until this gets replaced.

Motherboard

Great motherboard with cool features!

Memory

Fast and looks cool! Works with ASUS AURA software.

Storage

This thing is fast and runs very cool in the case!

Storage

Great drives but kind of loud when everything else in the case is silent.

Video Card

Literally incredible! Super fast and very cool!

Case

Awesome case with lots of cooling options. Looks clean and sleek!

Power Supply

Great PSU! Wouldn't buy anything other than an EVGA!

Operating System

W10 is awesome!

Monitor

Great monitor with Gsync and is 144hz!

Monitor

These are great side monitors!

Keyboard

Really cool keyboard and the keys are great for every game I play!

Mouse

Fits great in my hand, has cool RGB and white matches my build colors!

Headphones

I thought logitechs were good, I was wrong. These things are AMAZING and I would recommend them to anyone!

Speakers

Good speakers that I got on sale way back when.

Very nice PC dude. Like the custom cables. Fixing on building a PC like this later when the 1080 ti goes down in price.

MOD-ONE does a great job and I highly recommend them!

SirHalpin 1 Build 2 points 6 months ago

MOD-ONE? I was looking at EnSourced, heard good things about them, plus the custom colors are nice.

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Yep, https://mod-one.com/ these guys are awesome! The cables are nice and sturdy so you can bend them and they stay in place. Their clips are also some of the best!

SirHalpin 1 Build 2 points 6 months ago

I'll check em out. are they just extensions or can I get replacement PSU cables

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

I think they do both but don't quote me!

Nice Build. What's your take on the Asus Video card? Any particular reason you went with Asus over other brands?

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

ASUS had one of the best temp readings of all the cards plus they just look sharp to me! The thing is SILENT! The cool RGBs are a nice touch but it just fit the build since I went with the ASUS Hero IX with the RGBs and the RAM. They all work together with ASUS AURA so that was a plus as well. I love Gigabyte but this was built back in January and they didn't have the Aurorus stuff out yet but I hear that is also nice!

anandmd 2 points 6 months ago

Thanks for your reply. The reason I asked was because I too am leaning towards Asus GPU to go with Asus motherboard. However when looking at reviews on Newegg I always see higher ratings for Zotac, EVGA and Aorus which made me wonder why Asus sees lower ratings compared to these other three brands.

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

They are all good. It comes down to preference honestly. The only time I would stay away from a gpu is if there are overwhelming reports of issues. Example is the ACX issues with evga. Lots of issues but I'm curious to see how the icx version works now. :)

How to get upvotes: build in the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv, or upload many many pics.

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

The case is really nice and as I mentioned above, I wasn't really into the tempered glass version. As for the pics, when I was researching my build, I noticed people didn't take photos of what I wanted to see to decide on a part so I made it a must to take lots of pictures of parts and things people normally wouldn't. :D

mennoooowwww 2 points 6 months ago

nice pc and setup man, maby put the right monitor on the left and the pc on the right side, so you can still see your pc

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

This is just a temp setup area as I'm buying a house here shortly then I'll have all 3 monitors back up an the PC on the right for display :P

SirHalpin 1 Build 2 points 6 months ago

Simple, powerful, clean; all you can ask for. +1

why dont go temper glass? what r u trying to save?

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

Didn't like the tempered glass version. This looked way cleaner to me.

Drokovian 2 points 6 months ago

wow that's a first to hear

that_guy_sheridan 1 point 6 months ago

Nice build ! What are your thermals like though ?

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Stress testing the CPU I sit about 60C and stress testing the GPU I sit around 65C. In my opinion, that's really good!

that_guy_sheridan 2 points 6 months ago

Its really good tbh

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

Playing Warships, neither goes above 115F. Playing BF1 last night and I noticed my temps for the CPU were 130F and the GPU was 145F so really good :D

BodiXDDD 1 point 5 months ago

Are the included fans good?

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

Included fans for the X62 or the Case? I never used the included X62 fans but I use the stock front fans for the case and they are really good at pushing air.

Currently yes but at some point I'm going up to 4k, just not now.

Dizzlepop12 5 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

Interesting CPU choice. If you're photo / video editing, even a 1600 would have been ideal, and you could use the extra money towards a 4k monitor.

Nevertheless, this build it truly stunning. The Phanteks Enthoo Evolv is honestly one of the best cases out there, and your color matching is on point.

jdelbs18 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

I actually built this around Christmas time so the Ryzen CPUs weren't out yet and my old rig was on its last leg. I wasn't waiting any longer lol but thank you! I just finally got around to posting the build and photos!

yeah tf why doesn't he have money to spend on all these expensive parts AND an expensive monitor????
