Description

This build is for gaming and programming.

Everything so far is working correctly and I had no trouble with installation. It runs very quiet. On day 1 I had an issue with the fan leds not turning on but the fans where running (Didn't change the LED controller that came with the 570x) after changing the controller the issue was resolved and these beautiful bright HD leds are just perfect for this case. I run 2 GTX 1080 running in SLI and they just crush any game I throw at them. The keyboard and mouse are great additions to this build with RGB.

The price is a little off because most of the items I did not add the NY state tax and shipping. This machine was built with no budget set in mind. I wanted to have the best items I could buy. I did a little research on my parts through this site and looking at videos on YouTube. I wish I would of waited for the GTX 1080ti but ill wait till it gets upgraded and just get that. This is my first build ever and I wanted it to be perfect. I don't see what else could be missing. If you would kindly recommend anything to help with performance or style. I greatly appreciate you stopping by!

Blessed love from the Dominican Republic. If you have any questions ill try to answer to the best of my knowledge.

Half the time I have to grab a toy from the floor and launch it across the room so he goes to play. I have lost a match or two in Overwatch because of him :( constantly jumping up to the keyboard. I love him tho!!! cant be mad. lol

GTX 1080 SLI is a lot more better than 1080 ti should the game you run support SLI. Ti is awesome, but I would wait till the 1180 ti before you do any upgrades :p

Considering flipping the rear fan and making it exhaust. Otherwise, put a fan filter on it to keep out dust.

Done, flipped the rear fan to prevent the dust build-up. pic added. Thanks!

I am deciding whether or not I should make this build. Right now, I cannot decide, so I have found one deciding factor. Will it run Candy Crush at at least 30 fps on low-med settings? I am willing to go down to 20 fps, but not much lower.

If you don't mind me asking, why'd you choose the 6850k instead of the Ryzen 7 1800x? I want to get the 6850k as well, but I keep getting flak for saying that I want to that instead of the Ryzen 7. So I'm curious as to what made you choose the Intel over the AMD? Absolutely love the build, by the way! Thank you.

I purchased the 6850k because it was possibly the best processor out at the time of the build and for the money. My uncle also was doing his own build and he had already purchased the 6850k. I don't know much about AMD but I did read that Ryzen was supposed to be the equal if not better then the Intel chips for the money. I'm glad you like the build. Thank you!

What spacing sli bridge did you get?

I purchased the 3-Slot (60.96 MM) SLI Bridge from Nvidia. On the Asus Strix X99 MOBO, I had to put my cards on Slot 1 and 3 due to the cards being big and also for ventilation so the top card can breath.

Awesome build dude! How does G-sync work in combination with your 2 1080's? I have read that G-sync and SLI isn't a great combination. Do you notice any significant difference in fps/stutter with G-sync on or off?

  • 1 point

I haven't noticed and drops in FPS or any stutter on my monitor. I would say it's working flawless.

Hey there great build!

Was just wondering if you've had any troubles with your Asus X99 Strix board? I've read a tonne of terrible reviews including fried CPUs, dead ram slots, Q Code 00 and just a bunch of RMA's.

Cheers! :)

Yes, I installed it incorrectly but decided to leave it that way to test the temps. I am going to change it the right way like you said. It is kinda dusty in the case and i'm sure that is the reason why. Thank you, I honestly didn't know if that would effect the temps.
