I built this machine to handle everything and anything I can throw at it. I'm a hardcore gamer and I like to render HD video and and into audio production. I wanted to build a future proof machine that will last me at least another 6 years or so.
I'm also a huge benchmark junkie I like pushing the extremes so everything on this machine is overclocked/overvolted.
Yes many would call it overkill or too expensive. I built this machine to handle everything I can throw at it and there are a few things that has made this machine struggle a bit. Yes, there are many things I could have done differently. I could have saved more here by putting money there. But if you are thinking that you are missing the point. I built this machine to fit MY needs and to MY specifications. Yes, it's way too much for a gaming rig and you are right if all you are doing is gaming.
