Description

THIS DESCRIPTION WILL BE UPDATED WHEN I OVERCLOCK THE BUILD.

Cinebench R15 >> 1698cb

Coming from an i5-4440 and Radeon 6790, this was a big upgrade.

Build is for gaming, programming and video rendering.

Part Reviews

CPU

Really good p/p processor, currently runs at 3.0 Ghz since I don't have a monitor that supports above 60Hz, and its already pretty fast on multicore tasks. Will be overclocked to 4Ghz(i hope)

Motherboard

Decently priced Ryzen board, looks really nice. I always wanted a Black/white&RGB build so this fit the color scheme quite well. Has a RGB strip but the GPU blocks it, you only see an underglow. The SupremeFXsoudns really good.

Memory

OMG that looks too good, running at 2133Mhz at 1.2v for now. Timings are 16-18-18-38. [Will be overclocked to 3200Mhz later(i hope)]

Storage

Nothing special, faster than a hard drive obviously, but not that fast.

Storage

OMFG this is fast, boots around 7 seconds. Only downside is the price but it is worth it i think.

Storage

Fairly slow but reliable. Would buy the Black/Blue ones but this came from my old build.

Video Card

Nothing to say, fast AF, and the RGB lighting looks beautiful. The Strix cooler works perfectly, havent seen a reading above 68C and its also quiet.

Case

Best mid-tower in market under 100$. Build process, and cable management was super easy. Tempered glass looks so beautiful. Only downside is the fans included are a bit loud.

Power Supply

Does what it should, and quiet too.

Case Fan

Fairly quiet, and it does move a lot of air.

Mouse

Nice mouse with a good sensor, fits perfectly to my hand. Only downside is the logo only works in breathing mode.

Headphones

Fantastic pair, especially for the price. Really comfortable and sound stage is really good. A bit sweaty in long sessions.

Custom

Makes the build look nicer. Cable management is challenging with them obviously.

Nice build, were you able to get the RAM to work at 3000MHz afterwards? I have the same mobo and am on the fence about buying the same RAM, would tremendously appreciate it if you could tell me how well they work together. Thanks!

Tried to go 2933 Mhz at 1.35v but no the system doesnt post. Then i tried 2933 with 1.4v but again it fails to boot. Tried so many combinations (even 2400Mhz at 1.4v) but it doesnt go over 2133Mhz. :(

Aw man, thanks for the update. I did end up ordering the same RAM so I'll give it a shot and post my update here once it arrives along with my case.

Slight regret in buying Ryzen now, but no turning back for me.

Hey just FYI, with the latest BIOS from Asus (3203), I was able to run my Trident Z at 2933 pretty easily using DOCP. Hope you got yours working!

On the other hand, the RAM LEDs keep desynchronizing with each other when I use the Aura software, which bugs the crap out of me.
