I've been a long time viewer of pcpartpicker, wanting to build my very first PC. I've grown to like the red and black builds, so I purchased and assembled these parts over the past week. It's been running like a dream, at the same time aesthically pleasing.

The two parts that really stand out to me is the GTX 970, and the case itself. I was going to grab a GTX 980, but the GTX 970 has amazed me so far, as it overpowers games at 1080p. The case is amazing, you barely notice it's there it's so quiet.

Since everything is running so well at stock speeds (only OC ram to 2133), I'll run some benchmarks this week, I'll post the results by the end of the week, if requested. I'll fill the rest of the missing details as well, I'm posting from my phone :).

I'm open to suggestions, thanks to all of those that posted before me that allowed me to get a grasp of how certain parts looked together, prior to buying.

Part Reviews

Great price for the gaming capability you can achieve. Also came with a free Counter Strike game download from Steam.

CPU Cooler

Excellent cooling, just bummed the LED doesn't keep the color I set it at. Once I reboot, the color changes to an odd pink.

Video Card

Runs all of my games maxed at 1080p.

Really cool, quiet, and sexy looking.

Looks really good, I was a bit hesitant in purchasing a glossy screen, but the colors are brilliant and truly more than what I could've hoped for.

I'm very pleased with the purchase, the led's are very nice, the interface is easy to setup. My down vote is because overall, it feels like a cheap product because of the plastic. Razer needs to upgrade to an aluminum body for that professional feel.

You are individual! Have a greater sense of oneness and self worth! This build is just (extremely) similar to every other red/black build! Things could be far worse, it could be a spaghetti monster or a screwed up custom water cooling loop. But, seriously, is a clean (better than most others recently) and it would be wrong to give you any less than +2 for those Adidas flip flops.

How quiet is the rig with the water cooler and radiator top mounted?

I am loving that desk. I am little curious why you went with an mATX motherboard in a mid tower case though.

Can you put either a 120mm or a 140mm in the front of the define r5? And which one would be better?

hey great build and it looks beautiful! How is the monitor as I am looking to purchase it, how much does the glossyness affect the display (never used a glossy monitor before) and a link to the desk??
