This build is the direct result of a craiglist pickup gone haywire.
I picked up the FX-9590 used on craigslist w/ a gigabyte board for $100. I was going to hold onto it for my "next" build, but I got antsy. I then sold my MITX FM2+ build, sold the gigabyte board and used the cash to build up my first ATX machine.
FX-9590: Yes it's AM3+ not Ryzen. I don't care lol. Its 4.7ghz of Octo Core on the cheap from Craigslist. No Complaints
Cryorig H7: I love the quality of Cryorig's coolers, I've used two of their MITX low profile coolers. That being said, I was STUNNED by the size of the H7. And then was stunned again that it didn't impact the ram in any way.
Asus M5A99FX: Hello Amazon Warehouse deal. The multi blue and black theme was simply perfect for the Mr. Freeze build.
Crucial Ballistix Elite: Good looking, well built, well cooled.
PNY XLR8 Gaming SSD: Nice and Fast, that's all I need.
Gigabyte Aorus 580 XTR: I wanted a big bad AMD graphics card, I got it. Massive and powerful for the price.
Thermaltake View 27 Snow: I wanted a white case that would show off the "cold" aesthetics I was going for. I love the look of this case and I'm happy I went for it.
Thermaltake Toughpower Grand PSU: I'm a sucker for LED's LOL.
Thermaltake Riing 12 LED Blue: I was pleasantly surprise by the hardware that comes with these fans, comes with anything you need for maximum compatibility. Well built, quiet and good looking. All fans are controlled by a Thermaltake Commander 10 port fan hub.
The build was very straight forward, my only hiccup was I wanted to use the riser card for the GPU to vertically mount it. But the 580 is so wide the gullwing panel would not fit as it was bumped up against the 580. Oh well, next time.
I am an enormous comic nerd and I theme my builds based on Batman villains. This is my daily gaming rig, and my favorite villain is Mr Freeze, so this one came together fairly quickly. Had a blast building it.
