Description

Hybrid workstation to replace my 2012 desktop, which will be used primarily for machine learning and some gaming. Contemplated going for an older 6850K build which offers the full 40 PCIe lanes, but the research I've done shows little performance drop going from 16 to 8 lanes for HPC/Machine learning. 8 cores may be a bit overkill but I wanted to have some headroom for future use of VM's/containers :)

The Anidees Cube case is by far my most favourite case I have built in. The form-factor is nice and compact enough, and the dual chamber design is a dream for cable management!

Absolutely beautiful build! I love the light loops and white cables and the open design of the case. Great choice of parts, I hope you enjoy the beast you’ve created!

Any games I play are good enough on a single card, and most games don't have great SLI optimization; and when doing gpu programming like for deep learning you don't SLI the cards.

I don't think "machine learning" means what you think it means

Hi @tuero, thx for uploading this, I am considering to rebuild it (replacing GTX 1080 by 1070 though). Any helpful hints, pointers? Any build videos to watch using similar components? Cheers
