Description

This is my first ever PC build which spanned over a few months whilst I gathered the parts. It does everything I need it to and then some. Really happy with the finished product I try differing colour combos depending on my mood so it's never boring. All in all I love this machine and I love playing games on it!

Had no hiccups what so ever and all the parts worked harmoniously with one another thanks to PCPARTPICKER and a shed load of research by myself to get everything just right and to a modest budget. It runs really cool which was one of my main objectives with this build thanks to the Kraken and the STRIX. Intake fans on the front and extraction top and rear.

Hope you guys like it and one day I might build another!

(Some of the items aren't priced but all in all I came to just over £1,500 I believe. I also bought a desk and a nobleChairs Real Leather Epic. I also used a STRIX 1060 OC rather than the one listed which is about £30 more than the standard GPU.)

MR V.

*Have updated the parts list since first posting which now includes double the RAM, a second 1TB SSD, new monitor and HD cam. Chair not included in price.

Hey, nice build! I really like the lighting effects and very clean looking. I built my first system last May with my son with lots of great help from this site and the community. Didn't it feel great when it first booted up? A great feeling I remember. Glad it worked out for you and if you build another, which I'm already planning (hopefully with a custom water loop), be sure to share.

Thanks very much! When it first span up and everything worked first time it was amazing I was incredibly proud and happy with how it looked. I had invisioned it before I began the project exactly how I wanted it to turn out and I couldn't of gotten it any closer!

all great but why did you need an 850 watt power supply?

dude. Of course he did. There's no frills, remember?

Honestly I wasn't sure about power consumption so I did some reading on various sites and read a lot of reviews. This one always seemed to come out in the top few and rather than "scrimp" on a PSU like a lot of sites would tell me not to I went slightly overboard so that I knew I had more than enough power to supply my build efficiently and safely.

+1 for the name to start with. I would add more +'s if i could due to how balanced this build really is.

Love the build! I have to ask, how on earth do you game with that tiny mouse pad???

  • 1 point

Thanks Jackson! Well I have the mouse sensitivity up pretty damn high I guess is the answer! I suppose I could invest in a larger one down the line why not? But I need a wrist rest that's for sure!

What kind of games do you play?

Mostly I play World Of Warships/DayZ/For Honor/Civ to name a few. I have a quite the number more but these are my GoTo's at the minute! Before this build I was gaming on a VAIO so everything runs 100x better than before!

I use a "magic the gathering" mat. It's big and works really well

When the pc is off the green theme on the mobo is looking not so good. Do a paint job on it. On yt is few films about it.

  • 1 point

I'll look into that thanks Bartol thanks very much for the feedback, but I was kind of going for a green black theme to begin with! Also just to note you can hardly see the mobo when it's off because of the position it's in relative to the light in the room, the glass side panel almost acts like a mirror. The picture I posted is just after I'd finished building it under proper lighting!
