Ryzen Red Dragon

by DJCoult

My first computer build. My budget for this build was $1200, with Mail-In Rebates and Black November Savings it was completed at about $1100. Build was completed 11/13/2017. The case is the Red/Black Corsair SPEC-04. The build posted instantly without problems and also booted. Updated the BIOS without issue and installed the OS instantly. I was installing my first game within an hour of the first boot. It is not overclocked, but obviously has great potential. So excited for the way it turned out. In it's newness, the only change I would do is maybe a smaller CPU Cooler, it takes up quite a bit of the motherboard and covers the RGB in the top left corner and RAM (not a big issue).

Hmm, I'm getting this board and the cryorig h5 universal. Is it only available to mount like it is with the air flow going vertical? Would that be bad to suck air from the GPU area to cool the CPU?

Any clearance issues with the ram? Looking at same cooler, ram but different motherboard, should be fairly similar though.

You don't recommend the Cryorig H7?

Cryorig have very beautiful coolers, but their performance is not that good, except R1 Ultimate and R1 Universal. Cryorig H7 is weaker than Noctua NH-U12S by around 2-3°C.

For the same price of H7 you can get the Arctic Freezer 33 Plus which is currently the best price/performance air cooler. AF 33 Plus is also 1-2°C cooler than NH-U12S, and around 4°C cooler than H7.
