Description

Choices seem pretty standard1 for me. Wish the mobo had a couple more USB slots, but I'm not trying to pay very much more. I don't even want to buy an m.2 drive, but I may on Cyber Monday if there are some good deals.

Prices were pretty good for Black Friday, and employee discount at Amazon made them even better. :) The parts that were bought on Black Friday were the CPU, Motherboard, Memory, Case and Power Supply.

Everything else was bought throughout the past years, some as early as 2013:

  • SSD: 2016
  • HDD: 2015
  • GPU: 2018
  • Monitors: 2015
  • Mouse: 2016
  • Headphones: 2017
  • Mic: 2017
  • Webcam: 2017
  • Keyboard: 2013
  • Mic Stand: 2018
  • Monitor Mount/Adapters: 2018

Going to be streaming, gaming and more with this beaut. I'm excited for no more frame lag or dropped frames due to overloaded CPU/insufficient memory!

The only things I really want changed are storage (More storage and m.2 drives would be nice), keyboard (Brown switches or quieter would be nice) and a shock mount for the Blue Yeti would be perfect-o for me.

Please don't roast my terrible camera skills.

1 Quality, but not chock-full of completely unnecessary features. Even though I haven't set the RGB for anything in my PC yet, it's all still necessary! :S

Uhhh... M-my uhh... Camera is really dirty. It looks like it's an AORUS but it's actually MSI!

(Yeah you're right, I missed the mark and have fixed it. Thanks!)

The motherboard is labeled wrong. Im pretty sure that is an aorus x470 or b450 gaming am4 board.

You are correct! It's an Aorus X470. I've changed it to reflect that in the part list (Price was still the same)

Thank you!

Did you also have the RAM before you buy the components?

Nope; The CPU, Motherboard, Memory, Case and Power Supply were bought on Black Friday together.

Question I've heard that this case doesn't have good air flow and that it gets petty hot inside. From your experience is this true?

tl;dr: Replace the stock CPU cooler; Hot out of the top, cool in from the sides; Get some extra fans if you can!

Well, CPU temps are between 45-60°C while the GPU is at 52°C at close-to-idle. During benchmarks, the CPU flies up to 80-85°C-ish. I can even watch it begin to throttle it sucks, but I don't see any issues during regular use so it's OK. I didn't check the GPU at the time.

I'm not sure if this is good for this CPU, but I'm finding reports of 25-35°C idle. Those are with aftermarket coolers though. Maybe one of these days I'll join the likes...

My fan setup intakes from the front and back and exhausts through the top. Testing with my last case many moons ago, I had the best temps with that setup. I refuse to go through the fun of testing different fan configurations with this case...
