Decided to get myself PC to run Linux and have a compiling experience with something different than a standard in-house configuration and laptop and it took a while to make my mind what system i want until PCIE lane requirement kicked in. Actual machine is not finished , far from it as it looks empty and shallow :) will be water-cooling cpu`s but just for "looks" requirements nothing else as 85W cpu is laughable on cooling :)
Motherboard - Asus Z10PE-D16 WS because of dual cpu support and limited local capabilities and looks ... damn it looks good.
CPU 2x Intel Xeon E5-2623 V4 For starters two of these enough for my knowledge and usage , future would be top of the line ones for this mobo.
RAM 4x8GB ECC modules , but need more to fill mobo , part of its emptiness
GPU 1x Nvidia Quadro P600 to run two 4k monitors 2 x 1070Ti to run calculations ... shame as when i got these two now they announced on new ones and oh boy i will need to sell my 1070Ti`s :)))
STORAGE Samsungs nvme`s one 960EVO another 970EVO and i have Asus Hyper M.2 x16 PCIE extension card, both cards do not work in this cards so all 4 fills needs to be identical ( i hope GB amount on each card wont be noted ) so i have to put 960 into m.2 slot on the mobo. At some point i will be need more storage so thinking about hdd ones , might be 12TB ones from wd.
POWER SUPLY Seasonic 850w gold 80 modular.
COOLING 2x be quiet! for cpu`s
CASE Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition as i needed to fit motherboard with minimal modification to the case ( drill some extra holes )
LIGHTING Some blue led strip but when i was buying it i dint asked about what color im taking ... lol
MONITORS 2x Dell 4k 27inch screens. LG 38WK95C 21:9 UltraWide® WQHD+ IPS Curved LED Monitor 3840x1600
KEYBOARD Corsair , expensive one with 6 macro keys
Running Arch with i3wm , and 4k looks interesting but need to adjust to its size of displaying things, table a bit stolen from kitchen ( actually, i got my new pc desk), mouse pad is old and cool T61 ThinkPad which im using once in a while ( now i got 2x4GB RAM sticks and will be playing with it a bit more ) then will be changing into W520 ThinkPad probably X220 ThinkPad will be suitable as well ... i have a feal for ThinkPad fetish.
Actual machine is not finished...
P.S. created part list and it shows incompatibility - needs to be ignored as 750D case is almost perfect, needed only 3 new holes to dril and nvme .. i have added Asus Hyper M.2 card ( i can put 4 nvme
s in there) also added one more monitor , and CPUs are V4 not V3 as i could not find V4
P.P.S. pricing is just rough idea of how much ... as i made payment in Euros , so i have in total around 6000+ Euros.
