Description

Cheap and Ridiculously Awkward PC aka C.R.A.P, is my second build on the extreme cheap after my mobo decided it wanted to become a deep fat fryer and fried half of my components on my old PC and thus the super cheap C.R.A.P build was spawned from the dark corners of peasantry hell.

anyways enough kidding around, it can, surprisingly run most games at 1080p with a solid 60fps

also for clarification the parts which I purchased are the: - Graphics Card (previous one just straight out didn't work after the "frying") - PSU (may have had something to do with the blowout because when I inspected my old one, some of the wires melted) - more cables for sata - a surprisingly good case rip off of the Corsair C70 Military Green for £39.99 (that's $68.52 for any americans reading)

Parts I recycled from the old computer: - CPU (was surprisingly salvageable) - Optical Drive - one sata cable

Parts I found just hiding in drawers: - Motherboard - two 80gb drives (seriously why do I have like 6 of these lying around, I don't even know where I got them) - RAM

I saw the explanation for the title, and then the first pic and I assumed that was it. Just a motherboard and PSU on the floor.

Hey I remember my old FX 4100..

Ran it on a Hyper TX3 cooler and had it at 5 Ghz because I slapped a ridiculously high airflow 5k RPM fan on it. Somehow it never overheated even though it was my first real PC and I just overclocked it like a complete ****** with stupid high voltage. Good times...

That thing killed with a heavily overclocked HD 6850 a couple years ago and made for the best ~$400-500 PC ever. It's a surprisingly capable processor unless you pair it with a $400 GPU of course.

Backstories aside, nice build and +1 for the name and for what you did on a budget.

yeah anything that seems decent is the parts I purchased, the bad stuff is just spare crap I had lying around

What's up with the storage drive? 160gb for $65? Was it something you just had lying around and just used to see if everything would boot into an os or something?

yeah it was, and I couldn't find the actual Drive models on this website so I just got something that best represented what I have, because I have two 80gb drives stuck in together(soon to be replaced with 2tb)

Just look at that glorious CPU fan and heatsink. I'm honestly surprised this sucker hasn't overheated yet!

Well done on saving your bacon!
