Build

Daily Driver

Description

Update: I have replaced the Enermax Ostrog case with a much better NZXT S340. The Enermax is a great first case, however it can get dented easily and the side window gets scratched up easily. The NZXT is much better in terms of looks, cable management, and build quality.

So this is my first build. So far I'm loving it, it's much faster and better than the old Gateway DX4200 it replaced. I'm using this as my gaming PC obviously. I chose the Enermax Ostrog case in black and red, it matches the mobo perfectly. My bf was a little envious so I bought him the same case but in white to replace his OEM case. The GT740 and the 640GB HD was pulled out of the Gateway, the DVD drive pulled out of an old HP Pavilion, and the 250GB HD was just a spare sitting in the closet. I've had the computer up and running for a few days now and I haven't had a single issue with it. I will post with any updates, I still have a few more parts to get.

You don't need a 650WATT power supply in that, it's not a bad thing it's just unnecessary. You could have used the money you saved on a lower wattage power supply and invested it other places.

Well yeah, but now he won't have to buy another PSU to upgrade his parts.

Nothing too special but it's a Zalman CNPS5X. Only got it because it was on sale at FRYS. I heard good things about it though.

Thanks! Yes I am. The 740 is good, but soon I'll be upgrading to a 970 soon though.

I don't know if my info is correct but you might have to overclock your 6300 to about 4 - 4.8 gHz not bottleneck your 970 and also a new cpu cooler for the 6300 Edit: never mind read the previous comments and you already have a new cpu cooler
