*Thanks for the Featured Build guys!!

After building my 1st PC in 2013 (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/fF99TW), I decided to convert it to a Custom Desk PC which i build.

I used an old generic dell PC case for the motherboard tray, removed it with a dremel, worked like a charm.

The only differences from the original build is the GPU (upgraded to an RX 580) and added another 2 SSD's(generic 120GB from faulty laptops). Also the BeQuiet PSU i had stopped working, the shop i bought it from didn't have any in stock to replace it, so i got the EVGA Supernova P2 750w, which was the same price as the Bequiet when i bought it!

The temps in this case are very very good even though the holes for the fans are not the best(a bit smaller than the fans), and also since I've made it(about a year ago) there has been no dust on the inside, so it looks like I made a good job building the case ;).

This was a very fun project for me, and will probably use the desk for all my future upgrades, there's enough space for custom watercooling or whatever else I wanna throw in there.

Huge bonus points for building the desk yourself. The inlaid glass is a nice touch and even though the holes were not cut to size you cannot tell from the completed build. The placement of your lighting was perfect and adds a really cool glow to your parts without being to crazy. The one thing I have an issue with is the paint job. It looks like you attempted to paint it and only bought one can of spray paint and was like, "meh, good enough." Now perhaps the cloudy blue was the color you were trying to achieve and if so you hit the nail on the head. For me personally I would not have been able to leave it that way but still overall a cool build. I love the idea of desk PCs. I am toying with building one myself and mounting it to a standing desk kit.

Thanks for all you kind words :) The paint was intended to be like this. I actually painted a little bit of gray and then the blue. I was going for a kind of "rustic" look. I have another piece of furniture that i made and it was painted with the same idea.

Any thoughts on what kind of cool stuff you're going to do with the open space? Great build!

thanks! I'm either going to fully upgrade the PC with full water-cooling, which is gonna fill it up nice, or build a second individual PC inside the case which is only going to be used for streaming purposes, if I ever decide to do streaming!

I figured you just used the back tray from that old Dell just for ease and practicality. I feel it'd look awesome and much cleaner with a wooden cutout of one but that's a lot of measurements.

Do you have any plans to fill in the void?

yes, i did, forgot to mention that! it would have been cleaner, and i thought about it but a small mistake would mean that i have to start over again. Regarding the void, as i replied to another comment (copying the comment) "I'm either going to fully upgrade the PC with full water-cooling, which is gonna fill it up nice, or build a second individual PC inside the case which is only going to be used for streaming purposes, if I ever decide to do streaming!". Thanks :)

Just out of curiosity - how is the noise? I am going to guess pretty damn quiet.

It is pretty quiet, quieter than when it was in the case, so I'm happy!
