I built this machine so I can play current (and hopefully future games to at 1080p high to maxed settings). The GTX 1050 is a placeholder, I'll probably get a GTX 1070 or Vega 56. Maybe even the new Volta cards. I am very happy with aesthetics with this build. I was going for a blue PC, as you can see, and I think I succeeded. If you need any more pictures, let me know.
Coming from a 4th generation i5 based laptop, this processor's performance increase is day and night. The stock cooler is also sweet, and as I'm not doing any overclocking, I probably won't get a different one.
I love the neutral color scheme of this board, and the reinforced pci-e slots are pretty cool. I do wish it had another case fan header, but no biggie.
This is some of the only blue ddr4 ram. Also, it was no problem to get it to its advertised speed.
This is a blazing fast ssd. I was spoiled by an ssd in my laptop, so I wanted my desktop to feel the same. Also, the blue on the label is nice. Of course its only a SATA drive, but I didn't want to pay the premium for an m.2.
So far this drive has given me no problems. I hope it'll be that way for a while. I had the 2.5'' version of this drive, and it's failed me before, so that's why it gets a star taken off.
This GTX 1050 is a placeholder for a higher tier card when prices go down. However, if you play less graphics extensive games, it shouldn't be a problem. For example, I can max out Rocket League with a consistent 110+ FPS. It would be cool if this card had a backplate, but its fine as most backplates don't help cooling and are only for aesthetics.
This case was a BLAST to build in. I am a first time builder, and I was able to build the PC in less than three hours. The blue accents and tempered glass really helped my rig come together.
This power supply has a 5 year warranty, and is bronze certified. The cables are a nice stealthy black, which are way better than ugly ketchup mustard cables. Looking back, I think a modular power supply would be nice.
Wireless Network Adapter
This wifi adapter is good when works. I say this because maybe once or twice a day, I'll randomly lose connection. I get fast internet, so if this was more consistent, It would get 5 stars. Ethernet was unfortunately not an option.
120mm PWM fans that have an attractive blue led and casing. They cool well. What else can I say?
This monitor works for gaming and internet browsing. I did need to calibrate it a bit to make it easier on my eyes. The stand is probably one of the best features. you can rotate and collapse this thing in every way possible.
