Description

I decided to build a gaming pc around a year or so ago, i knew nothing about the latest PC hardware and so spent ages researching. At the time i was on a tight budget and settled on a Ryzen build as the price to performance is very good. Originally i had used a GTX 1060 6GB due to prices being sky high but it was a great card can't fault it. I am actually building a 2nd budget rig and plan to use my 1060 in that. After spending so much time researching PC parts etc... i got more into it and found an EVGA 1080 FTW for £290 with a years warranty left which is a no brainer really.

The RAM isn't the fastest spec as at the time prices were ridiculous and cost me almost £200 alone. I am in the process of upgrading parts if they come up cheap enough as and when.

Brilliant gaming pc, handles anything you throw at it and can handle multitasking (if you are into streaming etc).

Pictures show how it started and how it is looking now. The cooler is a little OTT but i would like to update the CPU in the future and it gives a lot more headroom for overclocking.

RAM prices are still kinda crazy (AFAIC), so I went a little differently with my build. Still, I like how you thought; how long ago did you actually start the build?

I started researching back last November, bought everything in between then and beginning of Jan waiting for best prices etc, then built it in Jan. I have been looking at parts since and thinking do i? Don’t i? And i eventually got that 1080 a few weeks ago and now i’m wanting to do more - maybe SLI or something, i actually have a more budget build i want to post soon too once i get it running !
