Description

After about 20 years of custom builds, starting with air cooling, moving to soft tubing (before AIO's were a thing) and then on to a few PETG builds, I felt like it was time to try something a bit different.

This chrome plated brass tube was definitely more complex and challenging to work with but I enjoyed it all the way. It took me about a month or two to get all the water cooling parts I needed and another month to finally put it all together, and unfortunately when I was almost done I messed up one of the brass tubes by cutting it a few millimetres short and had to wait for a replacement. Lesson learned, even though they are expensive you should buy a couple extra.

My PC is always changing, nothing stays the same for more than a year. The second monitor was a bit overkill, and I should really downgrade to something that looks similar but is mainly just for browsing. The next upgrades will likely be 3080Ti and possibly a 9900KS (maybe not since this 8700K really rips >5Ghz after delidding).

PS: Prices are all in CAD before taxes and at the time of purchase, which in some cases was 2-3 years ago. I didn't build this all from scratch; some of these parts have been with me since my previous build.

Should’ve waited until the current featured build was gone to post it. You deserve featured!

Thanks! I don't know how all that featured stuff works so if it doesn't happen hopefully some people still get to see it and maybe get some ideas from it.

My favorite type of watercooling... heavy metal. +1 for bending the rules quite literally!

Obviously this will be featured, 10/10 build and the tubing is both challenging and gorgeous.

I like how clean and streamlined this build looks. Pulling off brass tubing is already a giant feat, and you managed to have everything in harmony. Any particular reason why the lower radiator has the fans on the case floor? I'm in the midst of a custom loop build and debating whether to expose radiator fins as they are paper-fragile to being bent even with fingers running over them. Thoughts?

I was inspired myself by a build I saw back around August 19' so it could be.

Wow this looks absolutely amazing!

Especially with the great chrome plated brass tubing, now that I have seen this build, I might try my hand at Brass tubing.

+1 for sure

Absolutely stunning build. Only one thing to say, please don't waste your money on a 9900ks, it is the exact same performance as the 9900k, but is factory overclocked to 5ghz. Just go 9900k if you upgrade. Or eventually even switch to ryzen if you want. But damn that thing is absolutely stunning build.

Thanks, I think I would follow your advice and do the OC'ing/delidding manually if I wanted to push those clocks/temps.

Just curious, Why the HD 598s over the HD599s or the HD 600s?

Have had these since a Black Friday like 3 years ago, got a great deal and haven't really looked for anything else since they seem to have a great soundstage for FPS's, which are the primary game type I play.
