Description

Before Y'all start saying that this build is a potential fire hazard, I know!, I only run it when I am using it and It gets unplugged after each use But first, the reason I did this Build is from some random parts I had l lying around, collecting dust, so I spend about US $50 on parts online to complete this build, overall, I'm happy with it. * As far as what I use this for, not much, just playing around with a Linux environment mainly

  • CPU: not much, I had an old e8400 Core 2 duo, and i replaced it with this, it works well and I'm happy about that
  • Cooler: CM Hyper T2, bought it on an Amazon Sale for $12, works, and keeps the CPU nice and cool
  • Motherboard: The model in the parts list is the closest to the actual one on this site, the real model is the Asus ipibl-lb, it works well, has PCIe gen2, and SATA 2 ports, so I cannot complain to much
  • Memory: Had 2 sticks of some old Corsair XMS2 and A couple generic Samsung sticks
  • Storage: not the exact model, the Actual one is A Lite-On SSD I pulled from a Damaged Dell Laptop, that someone gave to me
  • Video card: Bought it at a garage sale for around $20 a couple years ago
  • PSU: I'm using the older model of this, it's 650 watts, Has a 9/10 rating from JonnyGuru, and I got it on Ebay for $30
  • Wireless card: pulled it out of an old Win XP machine *NZXT 200mm Fan: not sure where I got this from
  • Monitor: Okay colors, 5ms response, 60hz 1080p, not much more to say, got it at a garage sale about a year ago for $15
  • Keyboard: Generic Dell
  • Mouse: Generic Dell
  • OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, I have lots of experience using Linux based Machines, Command line and other aspects just come natural to me, I guess

I recommend building a stronger cardboard box for this. It looks like the cardboard just wants to die at any given moment. But it's epic

I especially like the duct tape!!!! Epic chuckles!

You should dub this: WoW rig, Goblin Engineering build, Gallywix Edition. Then sell it. Seeing as how, you know, their creations are more likely to hurt the user than the enemy.

For a second, I thought you had a Core 2 Quad with an RX 480 in a cardboard box. That would have been legendary, ahah.

I love it, +1

Haha, this is trash and I love it. Core 2 Quads still have decent kick to them.

the box looks REALLY beaten up. Maybe you could salvage one from the neighbors next time the recycling bins are lined up along the streets!

Its actually not that bad of a PSU, its a 650w Antec that JonnyGuru gave a 9/10 to. I've probably built around 6 computers, and I know to never buy a cheap PSU, btw, I remember you from the LTT forums a couple years ago before you got banned lol
