Description

Just signed up to the site and would like to say hello and introduce my personal build with a few pics and specs.. I'll keep the pics to just being the finished product! It's been quite a ride to get this system how I'd visioned it so I've an absolute ton of pics otherwise!

The main attraction is the Lian Li PC-09 chassis and once I'd seen it in person it deserved nothing more than an over the top build!

So cooling specs are as follows:

  • EK waterblocks X99 monoblock
  • EK 360PE radiator (gpu/s)
  • EK 240PE radiator (cpu)
  • EK D5 pump plexi x2
  • EK XRES 200
  • EK XRES 150

The overclock for the CPU is at 4.5Ghz for anyone interested.

Are you going to upgrade to skylake-X and x299 when that comes out?

  • 1 point

I'll be moving onto x299 once the initial launch is over and the platform has matured somewhat. I've learned my lesson from buying the latest must have components. But it's definitely planned!

Why sli TitanX and why not a sli 1080Ti for better performance and for the price too

Build was bought and planned quite a while back and has been finished for some time just late to post it on here. As ever parts always come out soon as you commit to buying lol I'd have gone 1080ti otherwise.

that's a **** ton of storage, but why?

  • 1 point

The storage is quite simply due to some brilliant black Friday deals that were too good to pass up as far as the SSD's are concerned. Just run the OS off the 960 EVO

Very nice! This build is very well executed! What fluid are you using? I really have 'trust issues' with opaque fluids.

  • 1 point

Thanks! I'm using Mayhems Pastel coolant.. Have ran it in the previous system with no problems or build up in the blocks. If you ever change up the loop though the tubing always looks better for a good rinse out. Ben running in this build around 10 months and no flow issues or build up from what I can see.

I'm contemplating on switching over to pastel when I upgrade my mobo to the same color as yours. It does look a lot better than the non-opaque fluid. Jayztwocentz got me scared !

Haha ... Yeah I'm pretty sure they've worked out the kinks with it now, plus he was running 3x Titan's with heavy overclocks that must of been hitting a good temperature! I've not seen any issues personally.. hope that helps your decision :) Oh and awesome build btw! Super clean work man!

Out of curiosity, what's this used for? I want to say gaming, but THAT storage makes me think otherwise. Content creation, perhaps?

  • 1 point

Its getting a lot of heavy gaming lately, content creation is something I'm also doing :) not heavily though!

So pretty. We're going to see a bunch of those cases soon.

You need to give me some cash for my build Lol, 7000!??!

  • 1 point

That's the same color combo I'm going for :) except mine is going to be much....much more boring, lol. Just wondering, did you happen to win the "IPS lottery" with that PG279Q? Aslo peeped those pops back there. I literally just bought a new one today -- Foxy the Pirate, haha.

  • 1 point

Oh awesome! Wasn't too sure the colour combo would work to start...ended up happy with the outcome. The fans are RGB though so leaves plenty of room for tweaking, I did also go for the IPS panel with the swift. I think you could get away with a TN though as there's tons of adjustment to the stand! I've found myself collecting pops too ha .. really want to find an awesome one to leave in the case as like a mascot or something! Out of curiosity what are you planning for a build ?

  • 1 point

Well my desk isn't very big so I'm considering the Lian-Li PC-05SX. Although I don't have the guts to go custom loop yet so I'd just use an AIO, hah. I really love those colors together and have been torn between green & purple or green & blue for a while now. Finally decided on the purple a few days ago and seeing this makes me think I made the right choice.

Only 14 pops so far. Most were gifts from my mom. Whenever she sees one I don't have she just buys it. I think she likes seeing my collection grow almost as much as I do. As far as your mascot goes I wanna say Riddler, Buzz Lightyear, The Hulk or The Joker but that's only because of the colors. They may not the coolest ones you could get, lol. The Green Lantern is awesome and would still match if that's important to you. I get a "futuristic" vibe when I look at this build and your coolant even looks like it's glowing. But there's PLENTY to choose from...too many.

Did you get any bad bleeding with your panel? Even looking at the recent Amazon reviews makes me skeptical enough to possibly go for the TN. ;~; More people are getting lucky than not but I've never had the best luck with.....well, anything. >cue the world's smallest violin.

  • 1 point

Sounds like a plan on the Lian Li chassis and colour combo then! Should look nice! An all in one will do the trick nicely anyway, no need for a custom loop I just enjoy the build process and tinkering really! Ha

I've had no issues whatsoever with the monitor or any bleeding in the panel it's actually been my favourite monitor thus far! Picked up the asus centurion 7.1 headset to match it nicely too! But for some reason can't seem to find it on here to list with peripherals

Amazing...this is probably my favorite Lian Li case, I like the PC-O11 and the PC-O10, but the PC-O9 looks the best largely because of the nice forward facing Radiator mount on the left side....I know the PC-O11WGX (ROG edition) has it too, but I like how this case has more room

Thanks! I'd love to go i9 ... All the hype already looks awesome. I'll be waiting for the X299 platform to mature a little first before anything changes though!
