Description

Hopefully White Dot's final incarnation for a while! Probably the only changes now will be a replacement side monitor as I want both to be 144Hz. Probably an upgrade to a 7920X at some point money permitting. Can't see me changing GPU unless something seriously drastic comes on the market.

Now running entirely on M.2 drives

Just replaced the side monitor with an ACER X240H 144Hz and oriented it in portrait mode, picked it up for £99 as it didn't have a stand :-)

Replaced the Mobo with an MSI X299 Tomahawk Arctic, this is the board that I wanted when I started this build, but I couldn't get hold of one so I went with the M7. Scan Computers had a refurb one without an IO shield for £190 and the nice guys at MSI sent me a replacement IO shield for 20 euros :-)

probably replace the RAM with RGB Pro at some point if I can get a good deal

Part Reviews

CPU

had this CPU for a while now and it's pretty solid..no complaints..would like to upgrade to a 7920X ideally though

CPU Cooler

Love this cooler..great temps while gaming and little or no noise..iCue software keeps the colours perfect

Motherboard

Waited for ages to get this board..so difficult to get hold of and so expensive...eventually got one from SCAN as refurbished for £190 without an IO shield but the nice peeps at MSI sent me a replacement IO for £20 Euro

Memory

Lovely RAM..I got the white version but Partpicker doesn't seem to have it

Storage

This was a bargain on eBay..just wanted to go SATA free really

Video Card

Outstanding GPU..amazing performance and EVGA are the best customer support you can get

Case

love this case but if Corsair did a white version of the new 500D SE then I'd be in there like a shot!

Power Supply

Had this through about three systems, wouild like a RM1000i white custom version but that would be unlikely!

Monitor

Got this as a second without stand and been really happy with it..maybe would upgrade to the Z35P to get the higher resolution and pixel count but it's not in my budget at present

Monitor

added this as my side monitor as I wanted a high refresh rate monitor to go with the Predator and I love it :-)

Keyboard

used to have the K63 Wireless but so much time charging it and it only had Blue LEDs, that I thought f**k it I might as well go for wired and RGB

Mouse

A fab mouse..and love the wireless charging with the MM1000Qi pad

Headphones

Would never go back to wired headphones now... I love these and the sound is great

IMO white and blue is overdone but you've managed to give a unique look. Good job +1

Awesome set up you have there. I like the whole aesthetic. +1

How's the airflow in the 570X? I was considering it for my build but didn't know if the tempered glass on the top made airflow difficult or not.

it's very good, there's a lot of airflow due to gaps between the tempered glass and the case, in fact I think it's the best case I've had for airflow apart from the Thermaltake P3

What did you use to close off the cable shroud, since the power supply is open to the rest of the case??
