Description

This is my fist build and i am 16 years old. Payed for most of this stuff myself.

I live on Guam so prices are different because of expensive shipping.

Name: It is what i felt when it was complete and the case is called thor. Thor+Orgasm= Thorgasm

CPU: i went with ivy, overclocks well, went with an i7 for video editing.

Motherboard: Went with a pricier motherboard because of the onboard audio and it looks pretty slick :)

Cpu cooler: Went with the h220 because it is the best performing all in one liquid cooler right now and it is expandable so i swapped the tubing and liquid. I love the way it turned out.

Ram: I went with 16gb of 1866mhz ram, again for video editing.

Storage: went with a 128gb 840 pro, performs great. 1tb caviar black, not much to be said.

Video card: This was my final purchase and it is a very nice card. Absolutely love it. I went with the direct cu ii because my case has a side fan and i know that big heat pipe will benefit from direct air.

Case: Went with an underdog case. I have no problems with this case and so far, its been amazing, Cable management is very clean with this case.

PSU: bought it from a friend BRAND NEW IN BOX for cheap, $120, enough for sli with 780 if i want to in the future.

Keyboard: I bought this black widow ultimate for a great price. $50

Please, constructive criticism is appreciated.

i thought i would never get one because i of where i live. I live in a us territory so swiftech cant sell to me because they cant sell in the us but i found one one ebay brand new for 145, free shipping.

why isnt swiftech allowed to sell in US?

  • 2 points

they can't sell the h220 in the us anymore due to patent claim from Asetek, the manafacturer that makes the corsair, nzxt and thermal take all in one units.

Goku, how did you set up Windows 8 with the users (I'm assuming) on a different drive? I've just finished building, and I have the exact same ssd as you, and want to set up properly. Do you have any advice?

  • 1 point

yes i downloaded windows 8 to a thumb drive and then used my key. I dont have a cd rom drive.

Did you move the entire users folder to the SSD, or did you just relocate the My Documents (and such) folder? I'll be installing from a cd rom drive, but I don't think that's going to make a difference.

hmmm not sure, i think you can do that. I actually started with an ssd and then added a 1 tb harddrive after so i am not sure.

Is your h220 having any problems?

  • 1 point

I'm just wondering. Why does your 780 look like it's bent or at an angle... ?

  • 1 point

yeah, it sags a bit but it is to be expected with a card of that size and heft

  • 1 point

Okay, that makes sense, lol. Just wondering. I actually bought a Ultra Rogue M925. It comes with a physical interface where you can support the opposite I/O side of your card to prevent that, it's pretty insane. _^

The OCD in me made me twitch because the PSU cables are black and then the extensions are white.

This build is sick. Excellent part selection and cable management.

thanks, about the psu cables, you cant really see them so i don't mind.
