Description

A test build in the HEX GEAR R80 case. I did this build solely as a "proof of concept" to see how much expensive stuff I could throw into one case. The Price of this build is ONLY parts that have been shoved into the case, no extra's such as monitors, chairs, tables etc.

Most of the parts are sadly quite outdated by now, but I never got around to actually show this build off in this community, so I have choose to post it anyway.

Video of the build can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9tkOjtA-24

At overclocked load the build ended up taking around 1400W from the socket! It did really good in benchmarks, but it was a nightmare getting the 4 Cards to run properly in games. 4 way SLI is fun, but not actually practical. But for GPU render aplications, the build was an absolute beast.

I only brought this build to one LAN, and then I decided to build a smaller one :D

So does it run Minecraft?

  • 3 points

obviously, the real question is what resolution can it run minesweeper at? I knew a guy who knew a guy who ran quad p6000's, and he could only do 144p 30 FPS

did he use a Pentium3.... He used a Pentium3 didn't he.

you gotta give him the benefit of the doubt, what id it was a pentium IV? or a pentium II extreme?

He used a i8112 from the 70's

impossible, quad quadro RTX 6000 can only get 144p 7fps

Man, those pics are yummm. Recall seeing it elsewhere I think this build, really jogs my memory (redit?) Either way amazing work. Really love those cable combs.

It's really funny to see how expensive the I7 5960x was. Now we have pretty cheap 8 core 16 threads CPU.

Technology is amazing! +10 for the expensive build

Yeah, it is insane to see how fast it goes currently. Competition is great for the market!

One of the best builds Ive ever seen!

Can I ask where you got the Klevv ram? Ive never heard of them, and after checking them out I really like the RGB modules, but I cant find it anywhere! Their website says they sell via Newegg but nothing is there. I even tried eBay, Amazon, Microcenter, and Fry's. Theres also little to no reviews online of their Cras II or Cras II RGB.

But nonetheless, amazing build! I love how clean and futuristic it looks, and the color of the coolant (:

im glad you like your system, but Quad SLI isn't being supported anymore by Nvidia. hence why you had such trouble making it work. some games (GTAV) wont even load when there's more than 2 way SLI enabled.
