Description

Hello everyone, Welcome to my first ever gaming pc build. I build this rig mostly for gaming, but also for some side productivity. I am preparing for some twitch streaming aswell. I think i made the right choice on the parts i chose. Starting from the CPU, RAM, GPU etc. Building the pc was very fun, no problems except installing the wraith stealth cooler of cpu, it was a pain in the a** because the screws were kinda tightening too much on one side even if i only put just a little force to it, so it was kinda hard to balance all screws at once. Except that, i didnt have any problems at all. I am planning on doing some more upgrades to this pc in the near future, like getting a new air cooler for cpu, or even an AIO, cause i do wanna overclock further the cpu to atleast 4.2 ghz. Currently i have overclocked it at 4GHZ all cores using stock cooler using only 1.27 vcore. I think that is kinda silly, temps are normal. Planning on expanding my storage cuz i currently have only this m.2 ssd which runs fast and fine, but too low for heavy game titles. Planning on getting new pc white led fans, maybe some led strips, new mechanical keybaord and even a new larger desk, because im using my old laptop desk, and my pc has to sit on the floor, which is a shame :( . Thank you everyone for this wonderful journey and let me know in the comments, your thoughts, suggestions, or even critics :)

Part Reviews

CPU

Best value/performance CPU! no doubts

Motherboard

Best looking B450 motherboard imho. Good features, good bios, easy overclocking. No problems so far.

Memory

Very fast and good looking memory. Does it's job. 10/10

Storage

Got it for free from a friend. Very fast m.2, enough space for windows and 2 to 3 games, but not more!

Video Card

Very good GPU for the price, got it over the 1060, mostly because of the freesync, and was around 50 dollars cheaper. Runs very quiet and very low temps. 10/10

Case

Very good looking case, lots of space to work with, the acrylic side panel is meh, but other than that, i'll give it 8/10

Power Supply

DONT CHEAP OUT ON A POWER SUPPLY. Got this because it does its job for my pc and its a tier 1 psu. It has a little bit of coil whine, but not noticable.

Case Fan

Good looking fan, does its job!

Monitor

Amazing 144 Hz Monitor if calibrated right, used a guide from reddit, and the colors are amazing. Very responsive for eSports titles like CSGO and Dota2. 10/10

Mouse

Got the HP Omen version of this which was 30 dollars cheaper than the actual one. Would recommend to anyone. 10/10

Headphones

Got it over the Cloud 2 beucase the surround sound isnt worth it over the sound quality that these headsets offer. Good quality, good sound, good mic. One problem, if you wear it while gaming long hours, like 2-3, your head is gonna start to hurt, just pointing that out there.

I have the same GPU, it totally kicks *** and overclocks pretty damn well. Got it to 1450 core and 2150 memory with about 5 minutes of testing. I'm sure I still have even more headroom left (especially on memory).

GPU have core and memories speeds. Check out GPU-Z and MSI Afterburner

Looking back at my comment I should have been more clear. I meant 2150 MHz on the memory.

Yeah, I agree with the case. I like to build in it, good room, looks nice, but the acrylic panel is a little let down for a $90-100ish case. Nice build! I went with a similar ROG Strix build, but Intel and Nvidia.

Nice build you've got there, props on that. Why did you adjust your aio slightly lower than normal if i may ask, because im planning on getting a h100i v2 very soon.

I just looked and didn't really noticed the issue why, being there is some clearance room, but I think when setting it up I thought it was a very small clearance issue with the tube to get the Corsair logo right side up with the way I had it if trying to uses the top brackets. The cooler I have is H110i a 280mm radiator on it.

Do you have a link to the guide on Reddit? Because I was thinking about getting the same monitor as you. :)

Great build! I would've gone for a little better GPU tho. +1

Thank you. I agree, but the only gpu i would go rather than the rx 580 which has freesync, is the gtx 1070 which, in my country costs 150 dollars, let alone gsync monitors. So thats the reason i went with this combo.

i assume 150 is a lot where you live, cause in 'Merica $150 for a 1070 would be dirt cheap. the cheapest here is $350

I totally understand tho, before i upgraded to a 1080 recently, i had an old used 980...

My bad. Looking back at my comment I made a mistake, *the 1070 costs around 150$ more. The cheapest 1070 here is $504.20...
