Description

When I started thinking about building a new computer I kept in the mind that I wanted to start doing YouTube. I plan on adding a SSD at some point. My budget for the build was $1000 USD.

Part Reviews

CPU

Does what it needs to. Its a little slow in some more CPU intensive games.

Motherboard

Does what it needs to and has lots of features.

Storage

Not bad, I only have this drive because it came out of an old laptop of mine.

Storage

Just got this drive. Not bad.

Video Card

I love this card. So far it has held its ground against any game that I have throw at it.

Case

Nice case, looks good. I just wish there was a little more room behind the mother board tray.

Power Supply

Does what it need to plus its semi modular which is a bonus for me.

Operating System

Only thing I have to say is that I had to have 64-bit.

Case Fan

A little loud, but I will be getting a fan controller soon, maybe.

Keyboard

It isn't the quietest keyboard I've had but it works.

Why did u play 55 dollars for a 250gb Hdd?

My guess is they could have actually spent around $25~30, more or less from Amazon's used hard drives. I know the thin laptop one was passed over but since it is set on default prices it may have been different. Hopefully not $55 or more.

As milesknight said below its not the exact drive I have but it was the closest drive to it. I only paid 20 for the drive not 55 as listed.

I would have gone for a Fx4350 or and i3 6100 CPU, save money on the AMD, get much better performance out of the 6100 and I would have gone for an R9 380 GPU for better performance, still not bad pricing with monitors and all

A FX 4350 is horrible for the price. Weak single core performance on a quad core CPU will mean games will not run nearly as well as a dual core CPU with decent SGP.

Your recommendation of an i3 6100 is good though, it is a powerful dual core CPU with 4 powerful virtual cores. Good call.

My first draft of this was an AMD version with a FX6300 and a GTX 750ti but after some more research and a budget increase I changed to what it is now

Is that a Blue Snowball? I was thinking about getting the Yeti for podcasting...

Yea, thats a snowball. Honestly if your just starting off you only need to snowball, because it sounds great for the price and gets the job done, but if you have the extra cash and are willing to spend it, the yeti has a lot more features and overall a little better.

That psu makes me want to puke

Overall a decent computer. One question I have to ask though is why the dual monitor. Yes it is nice but since you want to get into youtube not buying one of those monitors and putting 100 to a better quad core cpu with a higher stock clock rate (since it appears you will not overclock). The cores will help improve rendering and editing drastically. Also since a monitor is easy to upgrade (easier than a cpu), it makes sence to splurge a little now for lasting preformance.

When I got my first computer I got a monitor with it, then 2 years ago for Christmas I got the second one. So that's why I went dual monitors

How much does that usb 3.0 hub cost?

I think it was about $7-10 dollars off amazon.

You might want to update that CPU soon when/if you have the money as it is not great for rendering and if your going to be gaming I don't suggest live streaming or multitasking e.g (Recording+Playing) as your CPU will literally BLOW UP !!
