Description

I made this rig in pursuit to learn more about cryptocurrencies and to mine myself. I'm also going to need it for doing my homework, watching some Netflix here and there, and as well as start some light gaming. I've never really used a desktop before, as I've always gamed on my Xbox and PS2, and as well used laptops for their versatility. Little did I know that this computer exponentially better than my Surface Pro 3. I can mine while browsing the web and doing my homework, and still be able to pull about 63.4 Mh/s on the two cards.

Part Reviews

CPU

Amazing. Can open whatever I want, and I still haven't gone over like 40% usage. I used the basic OC from MSI bios and it automatically set me to 4.6 GHz base clock. I should be able to hit 4.8-5.0 with my water cooler as suggested by previous records. Came with Warhammer 2 and AC: Origins.

CPU Cooler

Does its job, not much to say. Haven't really tried overclocking except for the 4.6. Looking forward to reaching at least 4.8. Temps are cool, the mid-20s while idle and around 45-55 under load.

Motherboard

Has enough FAN Headers, can run Crossfire. Not RGB enough. Got what I paid for.

Memory

SOOO NICE. It looks so beautiful. Haven't installed their software yet as I heard it messes the RAM up, but the default colour scheme is eye candy at it's finest. 16 GB is enough for me, I can literally open anything I want, eg. Spotify, a game, some web pages take around 9 GB.

Storage

Amazing, fast, only concern that I didn't get more storage. Boots in about 14 seconds. I should have gotten 500 GB.

Storage

Not even sure this is the right HDD. From a really really old desktop.

Storage

For an HDD, it does the Job with plenty of space. I'm more of a performance user so I could have opted for a 500 GB SSD, but this is still pretty good.

Video Card

Beautiful. Powerful. My first GPU ever. I'm so used to XBOX One graphics that this was like 10 times better. It is true #PC Master Race. I can play Fortnite, GTA 5, AC: Origins, Warhammer 2 comfortably. I'm used to laptops so I can say that at 100% it can get quite loud. In terms of Mining, I have one stable at 31.5 Mh/s and another at 31.9 Mh/s. Looks AMAZING in crossfire, and can handle pretty much anything at WQHD.

Case

Beautiful tempered glass panels and as well as SP120 RGB fans. Kind of tight at the back for proper cable management.

Wireless Network Adapter

No issues so far.

Case Fan

9/10. Looks amazing when paired with the 3 already in my case. Only concern is that you can't turn the light off.

Custom

Had this from before. Amazin quality sound

Custom

Amazing mouse that I can pretty much take anywhere. I can easily switch from one computer to another with its 3-way connection feature. You can program 3 buttons to do what you wish.

Custom

BREATHTAKING. I have NEVER used a screen bigger than about 13 inches due to using laptops my whole life. It's WIDESCREEN, LIKE NO BEZELS, HAS FREESYNC, IS CURVED, WQHD, CABLE MANAGEMENT FEATURE at the back, and most of all, THE REFRESH RATE RAISES UP TO 75 Hz with Freesync.

Not seen many reviews when purchasing the monitor, but it was definitely worth returning the G24C MSI Monitor for this beauty!

Awesome! I know you mentioned this but you should of gone for a GTX 1080 (TI) SLI.

Yea I wish I had bought the computer at MSRP prices, as then I could have gotten the 1080 ti's for almost half of what they are going for right now.

how did you fit the ram behind the aio, i have the same case and i wanted to get the same ram, the trident z rgb, however with the aio up top there isnt alot of space , even though i have mounted the aio un the holes as far offset from the moboard as i can, i currently have low profile corsair lpx,

Hey Aiden! Even though the radiator looks nice up there, I would suggest not to, as in my case, the top fans are exhaust fans. How did I put them in? I used the case holes for where the air is exiting the case. I'm about to change the location of the radiator anyway, as my aio is being rendered useless, as hot air is always pushing against it

ah well i have a ryzen 7 so my temps are fine, currently have the same setup and i reach 73-5c on all core load using prime 95, i was just wondering if the ram fit in behind the aio properly, as i wanted the rgb ram and have the aio up top aswell

Haha. I was a little late to the game, but I wish I had gone for a GTX 1080 SLI.
