This is a great build!

Very clean my friend!

I am wondering if you already started collecting parts for this before the AMD Ryzen release date, and benchmarks.

The only reason I am asking is because you could have purchase a better CPU for less than the one you paid for.

Again, I am only curious.

+1 my friend =)

Thank you. I started this build back in late December / early January. I got deals on all of the parts and I recycled a couple components from my old build. The CPU came from the Retail Edge program so it was heavily discounted. I think in total my spend was less than $1300.

Wow!

That is a great discount!

Good job

Did you build this recently? If you did, you should have waited for Ryzen, you could have saved money by going w/ a Ryzen 7 1700 or a Ryzen 7 1700X or a Ryzen 7 1800X and gotten better performances. Otherwise good build, +1.

While technically yes, a Zen build wouldn't of looked as good and it seems OP cares greatly about looks

I built this system in early January. I couldn't pass up a 6850k from Retail Edge for $200.
