Description

I originally built this system at the beginning of last year with an i5 8600k and a EVGA 1070ti. Then I received a promotion and treated myself big time with my bonus that usually goes to paying something off. I could say I was going to put the hardware to use on something productive or creative but its 99.99% for gaming. :P I may edit the odd video or Photoshop something inappropriate into my friends pictures. The white cables are Antec Extensions I got off amazon for about $40. Very good for the price. The only issue I had during either build was getting the LL120 fans to cooperate with RGB software, and I just wanted them to be white. Despite that I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Part Reviews

CPU

Best CPU for gaming but overpriced. If you use your PC for anything other than gaming go Ryzen 3000.

CPU Cooler

Looks amazing but was a pain to install in the H500.

Motherboard

Nothing special but its black and white!

Memory

Love the look of this memory kit corsairs software can be janky but the amount of customization may be worth it.

Video Card

Looks good and does the job well but is loud under medium-high loads.

Case

Beautiful quality case but adding fans in the front doesn't help thermals much if at all and radiator mounting is limited, but I originally built a mid tier PC in it so I can't complain much.

Power Supply

Seasonic's warranty speaks for itself.

What are your VRM temps at 5ghz? Are you using a fan to cool the VRM?

Toasty so much so I set the cpu back to stock. The H500 just does not have the airflow...Ill update the build to reflect this.

What about VRM temps at stock? Any Stability issues at all?

I have the same motherboard currently running a 8600k, considering either a 9700k or a 9900k.

at stock no stability issues with additional airflow overclocking should be fine.

If you're still thinking about using this motherboard but are worried about VRM temps EK makes an asus strix mono block that will fit it. If you don't mind water cooling.
