Part Reviews

CPU

Best value for money Skylake CPU. Currently sitting at 4.4GHz comfortably using a Noctua NH U12P SE2 in push-pull in a Corsair 230t and getting fab temps.

CPU Cooler

Great cooler for an amazing price. Only complaint is that my motherboard can't control the fan speed, although the low noise headers work well.

Motherboard

If you can get it cheap this is a lovely board. Works really well with my red and blakc theme. You need to get the Gaming APP to control the RGB LEDs amd only the top half is RGB.

Video Card

Everything I had hoped for. Effortlessly added 130MHz to the core and 600MHz to the memory. Sitting at 2088MHz average with frequent boosts to 2101MHz.

Case

Awesome case, just a shame that the side panel mounting solution is a bit cheap and no rubber gromets.

Power Supply

Its an EVGA PSU, it works well, its good.

Monitor

A great compromise if you don't have the cash for Gsync/Freesync, 144Hz or 27". At 25" you still get loads of screen real-estate from the 2560x1440 resolution for £100 price reduction. The stand is sturdy and easy to mount, the cable management hole is useful, the I/O is superb and panel quality is the best I have ever seen (although my experience is very limited). Viewing angles are amazing coming from a TV/Laptop combo and the contrast ratio/colours look good (I am not as blown away as I thought I might be, but I don't do any colour work...).

I have so far played Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and World of Warcraft and both look the best I have ever seen them in person.

I would recommend using no scaling, however bear in mind that in a plug and play state, Windows scaled to 125% for me. Additionally, I had to use GeForce Experience to get some of my games to offer 1440p.

Interesting, I've been looking at the 230T. Unfortunately I don't quite like the look of it as much as the 200R, but it has some nice feature like the mesh front and included 2x front fans. What do you think of it?

Also: Try to take some pics that are zoomed out a bit so we can see the whole thing.

Look at the later photos. The early ones are literally just after putting everything on the desk. Tbh it's even better now as I replaced the mouse and got a better mat.

Mate I live in a rented flat. I don't own the table, I have moved the xbox back to the table and I frankly would prefer spend my money saving for a new GPU and games than on a headphone stand. The world doesn't revolve around perfect cable management haha
