When I've decided to build a new gaming PC, I fell in love into two things: FD Node 304 and MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gamin X. It was challenging to put them together as VC is 2.5 slots, but case only supports 2.
Nice build man. Have you cutted the side case to keep bring more ventilation to GPU? Or is just a removable filter?
Thanks! It just removable filter.
How is the temps?
I've put temps into build details, but is for stress tests (OCCT) and mining.
Under gaming load GPU is ~65-67 C and fans kept ~50%, so noise is acceptable.
That is really good temp for GPU. Did you remove the dust cover completely and replaced it with the bracket you've shown? or have you tested with the dust cover and it was restricting too much airflow?
Yes, these temps are for build shown (without dust cover and with brackets).
Native cover cannot be mounted as intended by FD as for 2.5 card it will block GPU fans. I was going to invent something to mount it, but decided to test it first with simple plastic frame around the window and sticky stripe. Temps and noise were terrible, so stopped on two $3 brackets.
I do have a question.
I have heard of compatibility issues with Kaby-Lake CPUs with the motherboard you are currently using (Asus Z170I Pro Gaming).
How does that i7 run with your motherboard?
Did you have to update Bios in order to use that i7 with the Mobo?
Running w/o any issues. When I bought that MB, just borrowed 6700, update BIOS to latest and put my 7700k
How did you mount these drives?
Nvidia For the Win, WOOT WOOT!
Why would you remove the side filter? The dust filters are what make this case great. There are similar cases with better air flow I believe if you don't care about dust.
