Description

I use this as Plex server and wanted a beefy CPU to handle multiple real-time transcodes at the same time. Forgot to take pictures while I was building it though so all I got is the finished product.

Took some time to upload some internal shots since I forgot to get them as I was building them.

Very nice, like every single part you purchased. Do you use only Plex or a Plex/Kodi setup? I also assume you have some external HD as part of your setup?

I have a NAS that I use for my storage but while it runs fine as a fileserver it can't handle anything more than that.

does the cpu cooler come with the needed mounting stuff?

Technically speaking the cooler I'm using is the Intel version of that Noctua cooler, but I got the AM4 bracket from Noctua since they provide those free for the life of the cooler.

The AMD version should come with the AM4 bracket out of the box though. If you're in doubt, check with whoever you're buying it from to make sure.

Curiosity: why a 1050 instead of a 1030?

I run CrashPlan on this which eats up memory when backing up terabytes of data.

This is just an HTPC so while I don't need the speeds that M.2 gives it screws into the slot on the back of the motherboard and saves me space from having to run two more cables (SATA power and SATA data) as well as save me the space of having to use the drive cage that comes with this case.

No side panel to pop off - the whole outer shell is one piece. Maybe I'll unscrew on Friday or Saturday for some internal shots. Wiring is a mess though, it's good enough to stay away from the fans but that's about it lol.
