Description

I recently built my first gaming PC specifically to play VR games. I had completed most of my build over a month ago, but needed to wait for my GTX 1070. It finally arrived last week so i have now finally been able to complete my build!

I have always been a console gamer prior to this, so when I set out to build my machine I purposefully wanted to make sure to keep a small form factor. My first decision was actually the case, the Thermaltake Core V1 Snow Edition, and then went on to choose all the other components ensuring that they'd fit in the case. I also wanted to future proof my machine, and luckily Nvidia had just announced their new GTX cards.

So far I've been very happy with my machine, have enjoyed getting into PC gaming.

For some reason, seeing those heatpipes at the top of the cooler make this build even more beautiful.

No, i was inspired by other builds I saw on the blogposts on Pc part picker that also used the Core V1 Snow edition. There are some really great builds there :)

Any issues fitting such a tall card into the case? Did you have to bend the PSU cables a lot to plug them in the top?

The PSU cables did take a little bit of effort to plug them in. I needed to organize my cables so that it could reach the top of the card cleanly with minimal bending. But yes, they were a very tight fit.

How much space was there to plug in the power cords to the GPU? I heard there was a space problem with this case and tall cards.

Hey, great build. I've always been a fan of that case and it looks great! Btw, how does the SSD perform? Like you, I'm also considering buying just an SSD and skipping the 1 TB drive. How is that working out for you so far?

and also +1 on the motherboard. Lovely choice...

It's working great for me so far. My machine is purely for gaming, so I couldn't think of any reason why I'd need an extra drive. I thought if i reached a point where I needed the extra drive I would buy it then because the by that time I probably could get even more for my money. But for now its just fine :)

I'm glad you ascended to the Glorious PC Master Race, lovely Black And White build, I just love those kinds of builds.

How's that T2 working out (temp and size/fit wise)? I'm thinking about putting it on an i3 in the same case.

It's a very nice build with professional looking pictures! Have a +1!

How are your temps while gaming with the 6500 and T2? I'm thinking of doing a build almost exactly like this one (same case, same CPU, same cooler, almost same GPU in terms of TDP [RX 480]) and I don't trust the stock cooler but also don't know whether or not to trust the T2. What's the highest temp you've ever read and what's average while gaming, and would you recommend the cooler?

The OP should put some foamcore underneath it to avoid any damage.
