A couple changes have happened since the last update. I upgraded my case to a Thermaltake X31 case, and my favorite part of my build is the addition of an Acer Predator x34 monitor. I also changed the CPU cooler to the Predator 240 from EKWB. Eventually I plan on going to a custom loop but this setup is keeping my temps in check so I'm hesitant to spend another grand on a full blown water cooling loop. Either way, new pictures of the current state of my build have been uploaded! Thanks everyone for the kind words.
For the longest time I've been wanting to do a full blown gaming PC and I finally got around to making it. I've had it completed for a few weeks and it has run flawlessly. The only variation between the two images is the addition of a HB bridge in the desk view picture.
This system has been something I've been wanting to do for quite a while. I've always built systems for friends but gotten by on a first gen i7 laptop for the better part of six years. Most of my gaming was restricted to console gaming. The bug to build myself something great got into me about six months ago when I built a computer for a friend of mine. His system was built around a 980ti classified GPU and a 4690k CPU. After he showed me how well it ran Fallout 4 (and after comparing it to the level my console played it at) I decided to start stashing money away for my own build. Fast forward to mid-June and I was finally ready to put it together. After a couple days of making builds on here, I printed out my finalized build sheet and went to MicroCenter. A few trips back and forth to pick up parts as they became available, and I had it up and running.
Haven't even plugged my Xbox One back in since I built it. I'm not the best at taking photos, nor do I have a quality camera to do so, so I don't have any nice in-progress build pictures or anything like that, but I couldn't be happier with the way the system came out. The only additional items not listed on the build list is the sleeved cables that I had custom made to match my build theme.
If anyone has a name suggestion for the rig, let me know. I feel like it deserves a name.
