Part Reviews

Wireless Network Adapter

Used this for 2 years now, Never had any issues with connection related to this adapter. Definitely happy with this purchase. On a side note I could have bought a slightly better motherboard with an integrated wifi adapter, I liked the antenna this came with though.

Monitor

There's a white line across the top of my screen and I need to keep my Start Bar set to "Auto Hide" or the Tabs get burned into it.
If I sat to close, It gave me a headache. This monitor runs hot. Considering how much it cost, I would have been a lot happier with 2 cheap monitors.

Headphones

The microphone is bendy to position it, It straitens out right after bending it and you need to hold it to your mouth or people can't hear you.
It's not easy to play an FPS game while holding your Mic to your mouth. Even if the Mic was good, I needed to wear a Hat with this or it gave me a headache, They're not comfortable on the top of your head. -Ear Pads are ok.

Only part that's left is the in-line volume adjuster, If you bump it, It makes all sorts of Static noise.

Headphones are very important to enjoy Gaming, I won't cheap out again.

Nice build, maybe a new chair and you are good to go! I might consider some internal lighting but if not it still looks good!

How's the keyboard working for you?

It took just over 1 moth to get use to the extra keys.. I didn't care for the grooved gaming keys you could put on WASD , They made it awkward to transition to other keys.
But now I like it a lot.

Insert Hate Below.

I HATE YOUR GOD DAMN PART CHOICES, WHY THE HECK DO YOU NEED 32GB OF RAM, AN 850W PSU, AN EXPENSIVE WIRELESS CARD, ETC?!

I'm kidding though, it's a really, really nice looking build. +1

You should post this on /r/cablemanagement, I want to add it to the wiki.

I'm not very Reddit Savvy but I posted it. I'll add a new picture with the case closed and no light glare soon.

Great hardware and build. Just take care of cables and for your own sake get a better desk and chair. The ones you have look so uncomfortable.Having the keyboard so low and the mouse above it,the desk has also no depth to just seat properly.

That gpu is massive, just a quick quistion, i have the same table as you, do you notice any strain on the glass or support with your tower on top? i keep my tower below because im afriad the weight will be to much for the glass.

I'm new to this but i have never heard of ZOTAC. Hows it work?

  • 1 point

Zotac was the first company to release factory overclocked gpu's, I'm happy with it for now but I will be getting a 1080 as soon as I can.

Will a 1080 fit in the nzxt Noctis 450? I'm building the same setup with different storage, a different power supply and a 1080 gpu. I was just wondering if it will fit. Thanks in advance.

  • 1 point

Yup the current 1080's are like 3 inches smaller than the Zotac I have.

With a reference card I think you can leave all the drive bays in the case.

Hey man, does the NZXT logo have it's own LEDs? Or do you have LED strips there...?

The case has a button on the back with 5 different settings. There's a light on the back of the case, The logo light and the under light.

Two brown fans and a red one in the front Come on that just is awful looking

  • 1 point

I agree but you don't see the front fans in this case so it doesn't really matter.

  • 1 point

I didn't think you where serious, The different fans Have a different purpose. The NF12s have higher pressure to pass the air thru the more congested areas in the case, Whereas the AF120 and the AF140 are simply for airflow.

In short the different fans contribute to a low dust cool running pc.
You should keep dust and case pressure in mind when you choose your fans.

So cliche, except for the noctua fans, +1 for those

Should've gotten a lower end gpu especially since pascal-e is coming out soon

If I waited and bought a pascal card, someone would say I should have waited for Volta. ;p something better is always coming out.
