Description

This is my first ever PC build. I'll be the first to admit I didn't do enough research especially on how badly the FX-9590 runs, but for me, it works well. I am getting a 240mm AIO for it though so it should stay cool. This runs PUBG Rainbow 6 and War thunder very well and I enjoy using it, its just a tad hot though. Some of the photos are from when I had an FX-6300, M5A78l-m plus, and a 550-watt power supply.

Part Reviews

CPU

Good lord, I don't know if it was just my luck or not, but this thing is a fat hunk of garbage. It runs crazy hot even with a good 120mm AIO and decent thermal paste for one. Secondly, it took like three days of fiddling in BIOs just to get this thing to boot. When I did finally get it to boot it ran most things decently better than my FX-6300, but it stuttered like crazy. You would have a solid 90-100 frames and it would drop to 3 fps for a few seconds and jump back up. It always did that no matter what graphics level or game it was. I was also forced to underclock it and up the voltage or it would simply not run. It gets 2 stars cuz its better than FX-6300 slightly.

Fx 9590 has a tdp of 220 Watts, might be able to save a bit on the heating bill :)

240mm AIO all day with that chip. I am still running 2 of them. Full load saturation stays at 48c. So quite cool. One thing to keep in mind is keeping your VRM's fed with lots of air too. That chip is a monster. Needs lots of box air movement. You may want to up the power supply rating to a gold or higher. That chip will really hammer a power supply. I run AX1200i's. I am still able to play any game I like with great settings. Space heater for sure!

My brother runs the fx9590 with a 980ti. Games great with no issues. I don't get all the hate it gets. You shouldn't buy one over a ryzen, but if you have one or get one dirt cheap, they perform well for their age.

I got a 120 mm Corsair H60 with two fans on it and it never gets above 60 C under load, now that's good stuff. FYI I got the CPU for 50 bucks on eBay so I didn't pay full retail.

Does the 9590 bottleneck the 580 a lot?
