Description

I hadn't built a new computer in about 8 years. I knew I wanted a clean "white" build, but nothing too fancy with RGB. This build is simple but clean. Very happy with how it came out. I'll probably replace the case fans at some point, but the work just fine for now.

+1 for black/white and for keeping it tasteful. Check out my build if you have a moment...

I had to get mine at Fry's. Only place that had white in stock at the time. Here's the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073RYVGC1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4bIACbA2P4YQ3

How do you like the 9700k? Does it stay cool enough for you? Mine gets pretty hot with a 280mm cooler even.

I only max around 55c on mine during regular gaming. Used the stock paste that came on the Kraken. Have it's profile set on Silent in CAM.

To answer whether I like it. Definitely! I know giving up hyper threading is scary. But adding 2 real cores compared to the 8700k, you're only losing 4 threads (6/12 on the 8700k vs 8/8 on the 9700k) but apps seem more core hungry these days. For a new build that was in the $1500+ budget range, it was the best choice.

Yikes, okay. I have some kryonaut thermal paste on order and I'll be re-seating the cooler and see if that makes a difference. Mine routinely climbs to 75C during gaming in FarCry5.

What resolution do you game in?

1440 for everything. My GPU maxes at 75c, but CPU always stays much cooler. Reseat may not be a bad idea.

I also noticed your CPU cooler has a high flow rate of 98CFM, where mine is only 55CFM. This could be something I need to address :(

I would overclock it.

Oddly my RTX 2080 is supposed to be locked at 1710mhz clock since it's not the OC model. But after running aorus autotune it boosts to 1875mhz. I tired to reset it to get a baseline, but it won't for some reason.

As for the CPU, haven't been CPU bottlenecked yet in my use. Until then, I'm ok with 4.9ghz boost.

It seems we have another whale enthusiast

My previous build (not on partpicker) was called BlackBeast (AMD/RADEON with all mechanical drives and no window). This is basically the opposite, thus the name.

Are you me? Haha I was looking up some builds to see how this cooler and case looked together for reference as I am currently building pretty much the same build with the same parts you are by total coincidence. I'm freaking out because my last build was named The Black Beast and windowless haha!

Super clean build by the way +1

Yes, I am you from the future. You will love this build!

Serious note, the x62 in the h500 is a tight fit. It will work, but it's tight. I have my fans pushing air through the radiator. But I kinda wanna try putting them in pull config which would allow the aio tubes an extra inch of space.

Wow, very clean build.

Thanks! That was my #1 priority. My last build was full ATX with no windows. So I kinda let it get out of control on the inside with 3 drives, USB extensions for front of case, etc. M.2 didn't exist back then. Such a huge factor for cable management.
