I've wanted a really nice computer for a while now. Here are basically all of what I think about the parts and what worked and what didn't.

CPU Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core:

Since this was pretty much my first build for a PC of any type, I was really finicky about handling the CPU, and I was especially worry-some when it resisted going into the CPU socket on the motherboard, but everything turned out alright, they're pretty sturdy. I highly recommend this CPU to anyone who isn't to knowledgeable about overclocking because it comes with a high clock anyway. Always reapply thermal paste if you take the CPU cooler block off of the CPU, the reason is that when you take it off and put it back on, pockets of air get stuck under the cooler and don't touch some parts of the CPU, making it very hot.

CPU Cooler Deepcool CAPTAIN 240EX WHITE 153.0 CFM Liquid:

Here's where the most trouble started to brew in this build. But more importantly, good news first. I absolutely LOVE how the shade of white matches everything on the build and how cool it keeps this rock melting brick of a CPU. Anyway, the annoying part of this cooler is that the screw that secures it is not long enough, making me have to improvise after stripping the thread from the original nut. You might be able to tell in the picture.

I have nothing but good to say about this motherboard, IT LOOKS SO GOOD. It matches just about everything in the PC and has so many options available for future upgrades. Sexy!

Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400:

In the actual part list it says the 4 x 4 GB package but I got cold feet because at the bottom while making the list it said something to the effect of the CPU cooler block running into the RAM. I just went on Amazon and bought the 2 piece duo. Looks great, no problems whatsoever!

Storage Kingston A400 120GB 2.5" SSD:

I think that this is the perfect balance between performance and space, it boots Windows 10 in about 8 seconds, and is perfect for games that take WAY too long to boot up.

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM:

This is just the right size for even a large library of Steam games and possibly video editing, it's nice and cheap and works well with most cases because the have hidden drive bays. Visit this link if you need help setting up SSD and HDD together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG4LXw4Nd5U

Video Card Asus GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Dual Series:

I actually picked this card up for $415 on Amazon. I had a problem that only one fan would run and the GPU would get really hot, but like with most problems with GPU's, if you just download the latest nVidia driver, it will likely fix it. Thanks nVidia!

Case NZXT S340 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower:

This...case...is...so....AMAZING!!!!!! Oh Lord Jesus above must've sent this to PC gamer's all around!!! It has stunning visuals and absolutely PHENOMENAL cable management. Frequently I see people that just gave up on managing their cables or they just didn't want to go back and fix it. All I need to say is that it took me like 5 minutes for literally all of the cables managed. You should see behind the motherboard, it's a mess and that's a good thing! :DDDDD I LOVE the tempered glass, I couldn't find any white case with such open visuals and with such a brilliant shade of white.

Power Supply Corsair TXM Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX:

Nothing bad to say about this part, it's got plenty of voltage for my RGB lights and the fan is very quiet.

I also used this PHANTEKS light strip, it's very bright with plenty of options for color: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HUFMIZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone on this great website, without you I wouldn't have known how to build a PC at all!

Part Reviews

Fantastic CPU for anyone who doesn't want to dabble in overclocking anything. Personally as of right now, even with the 8th gen i7's coming around, this will be the reigning champion.

CPU Cooler

Great looks, great temps, low noise! Perfect!

Absolutely STUNNING motherboard for white themed builds. Has ports a-plenty and looks a-awesome!

Pretty flashy RAM for so cheap! I do recommend getting the 2x8GB pack from Amazon

Good balance between price, performance and space!

Great for big game libraries. And so cheap!

Video Card

Very handsome card for white builds.

Absolutely stunning tempered glass and even better cable management! Great job on this one NZXT!

Power Supply

Good power output and sleek looks.

i suggest putting the led strips on the top and sides (stick it to the case) dont let it hang around

Atubz20 2 points 20 months ago

Was about to say the same thing that the only thing that catches my eye is the LED just hanging there basically.

evilbetty submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

True but I personally wanted to see the strips, not just their light.

Fantastic looking build! I couldn't help but notice that your airflow is entirely negative, though (all of your fans direct air outwards). I recommend you reverse the airflow of your AIO fans. That will allow clean air to enter your chassis. Even though the clean air is filtering through the radiator, your other components will thank you for it. (source: personal experience)

I will eventually do that, but so far temps look great!

Does this meme still exist?

Fun fact: begone thot in Lithuanian is pradėjo tau

Looks good. I would be careful with the Captain, though, there have been LOTS of recorded cases of them leaking and breaking everything beneath them in the PC.

evilbetty submitter 1 Build 2 points 20 months ago

That's definitely something I will be wary of, if you can tell in the picture, I had to use a different nut to secure it.

MershKer 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

yo good looking build. one question, you put all fans to exhaust, how are the temps?

MershKer 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

and when gaming?

evilbetty submitter 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

The temps are around 41 degrees and 60 degrees for the CPU. 31 degrees and 71 degrees for the GPU, I'm going to switch the direction of the AIO fans so that they aren't all negative, that should help quite a bit.

MershKer 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

thx for the info.
