After making a few changes to my build including, delidding the 7700k i decided to upload this build again and share my opinion and experience with you guys, since this site helped me when i was building my first PC. Benchmarks are in the pictures.
CPU: The 7700k was delidded and we replaced Intel’s toothpaste with Liquid Metal which dropped the temperature about 20° C. After delidding I was able to run OC the 7700k even further and it is running stable on 5.0GHz now. Idle temps are kinda high with 45° C but the CPU is running at min 4,7 GHz with the fans at 500rpm.
CPU Cooler: Looks good, performs good, but I regret not getting the X62, when I bought the PC it was out of stock everywhere and I would have had to wait for 1 to 2 months. The NZXT CAM Software would be really nice if it had less bugs, that **** has probably more bugs than PUBG.
GPU: Can’t say that much it’s a 1080 does its job very well. Couldn’t add much to the factory OC. Baseclock is 1607MHz, MSI ships it with 1683MHz wo which I could add 114 MHz, to the Memory I could add another 504MHz.
RAM: Overclocked it to 3200 MHz, won’t boot if I go any higher, the rgb is really nice and it finally works with MSI Mystic Light.
Case: The S340 is a really nice case, very easy to build in and enough place for all the cables. The only downside for me is that would love to try a custom loop which is kinda limited in this case, but maybe I will try it.
Delidding: If you want to delid your CPU as easy and secure as possible you should probably buy a tool like the one from"Der 8auer". I do not recommend 3D printing the tool, seriously you can really **** things up with that. We used razor blades for delidding, also not the safest method but i would always recommend this one over the self printed tools.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask I will try my best to answer them.
Great CPU, but it runs very hot. I would recommend delidding it and replace the thermalpaste with liquid metal
Cooling is good, but if your case supports the X62 and your budget is big enough get the X62
CAM Software still has a lot of bugs
Great Motherboard, nothing i could complain about.
Overclocked to 3200 MHz, the rgb is now supported by MSI Mystic Light
Great GPU, could even add a decent OC to the "gaming mode" (factory OC)
Nice ultrawide especially for this price.
