Description

Upgrading my intel to ryzen build. Future upgrade also will be made like GPU and SSDs.

Update: 22th January 2019

Alots of things has been upgraded. SSDs has been installed, RAM size has increased. Most of the changes are just the gaming setup inside my room. Next upgrade will be purely on gaming performance which is the GPU and monitor. I would like to have 144hz with 1440p on my next monitor. Wish me luck :)

Part Reviews

CPU

Upgraded from intel i3-6300, so its a huge improvement in the performance. I couldnt ask for more as Im just using it purely on gaming.

CPU Cooler

This cooler suits my build very much. The only issue with air cooler is with my MATX board is the RAM space clearence. So the only possible solution for now is change the airflow of the cooler in opposite direction or just change into NZXT Kraken.

Motherboard

Buying this just to fit the theme of the rig. Enough 2x for RAM slot for gaming. Thats it.

Memory

RGBs, 8gb x 8gb RAM, 3200 speed. What else that I need to know? Oh yah, its HyperX. My Keyboard is HyperX too so ok.

Video Card

The only thing that is bottle-necking my gaming performance. My settings on Witcher 3 is High settings and 60hz. Quite okay, there is room for improvement in the future. Killing quite on every game on High to Medium setting on 1080p. That is enough for now.

Case

Quite expensive case but man, my previous favorite is s340 but so many space that is not been used since im not using the radiator cooler. Theres so many empty spaces that make me feel empty just like ma heart haha. But then, since the launch of h400i, I know this case is the sweet spot to my liking since it was not too small and not too big for my liking. Oh and for the smart device, I just plug in all case fans to the smart device and it produce damn slow fan noise. Its a win-win who cares.

Power Supply

Ez cable management with the fully-modular cables. Supply enough power to powering the Galactic Empire machine. I give 5 star for that.

Dude. SSD is key. Probably the best upgrade dollar for dollar you can make.

Beautiful build. As others said, make the SSD your first upgrade. I did, and trust me, you won't want to go back. +1

Is that lg 23mp68vq do you have issues with freesync on the gtx gpu?

I have a freesync monitor with a GTX 1050ti and it works fine, so I assume the LG is fine too.

A lot of people say nvidia and freesync have major issues i don't know why.I'm not monitor expert but i really want that lg.

I have an LG34UM69 with a 1060 and no issues whatsoever. FreeSync doesn't work with the card, obviously, but the monitor works fine with FreeSync turned off. obviously you may get some screen tearing.

Nice build, how do you like the Ryzen? I am considering going ryzen my next build.

So far ryzen has performed really well compared to my previous CPU (intel i3) and has alots of future expensions for upgrading.

Not bad considering its 70$ more than your i3. Have you OC'd it at all or are you happy with current stock speeds?

  • 2 points

Im not planning on OC with this machine yet because having this stock speed is enough for the games that i played

I was planning on making a mostly-MSI build with the same mobo and cooler, but I was initially worried about whether or not the MSI Core Frozr L would fit. It was relieving to see that you managed to fit the cooler on this motherboard with both DIMM slots usable, and you didn't have to change to a pull configuration on it. Definitely a great looking build too.

I assume you used the case fans that came with the H400i? If so, what fans come with the case?
