Description

Finally got it completed after months of contemplating parts. Anyhow this is primarily a build for my son who is an avid gamer. We decided on a Black and White theme, which worked out fairly well minus the Gpu. We almost decided on getting 2 Msi Gtx 960s with the Black and white coloring, but we opted for the Msi gtx 970 Golden Edition. Which I think actually makes the inside look nice. Especially the way it says look at me! We had no problems with any of the components. Everything is doing what it's supposed to do. The install took a little over 2 hours. About the same for the driver installations as well. Overall we are proud of this build and looking forward to many more.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

This cooler is super quiet. Haven't gotten into OCing anything yet. But so far very good.

Motherboard

Awesome Board, no complaints at all!

Memory

Beautiful memory chips. Should always go with a Krait Board.!

Video Card

This graphics card is a beauty and a beast. Glad I went with this one. A little on the heavy side. The price could be a little cheaper. But great card!

Case

This case is way too much especially for what I paid for. I mean it practically helps you with your build. I like that everything can be removed with ease if necessary. Very roomy inside fit everything I put into it with ease. This case is a must for all builders!

Wireless Network Adapter

I do nothing but Linksys when it comes to wifi. And this card proved why... Ease of access. They make it to easy to connect. Read my router instantly and like magic was already connected. Great Wi-Fi card!!

Monitor

Got this monitor just to get the build going. Plan on getting its big brother here in a week or two. But overall this monitor is great on its own.

Keyboard

This keyboard has yet been put to its full paces. The customization on it is just ridiculous. Keys respond instantly. The only thing I don't like is that it has no USB on it. But very good keyboard.!

Very nice! About your GPU, sli'ing these -

probably would have been better - you would have gotten better performance and you would have been able to keep the white theme going.

Still, a very nice build! +1 :D

Man, I was really thinking about sli'ing 2 960s. But I saw a review saying that they would perform slightly better than a single 970. But yeah, I contemplated that though for a while.

i just finished my build all except im not sure about cpu cooler.

i consider those phanteks or maybe go liquid corsair h105. why did you choose this one and not liquid?

I was initially planning on using the H105 as well. But for some reason the Phantek just stuck with me. One reason I know of was because I was using a phantek case. Then I looked at reviews for it and it outperformed alot of the water coolers. I like that it also comes in various colors to match builds. It looks pretty awesome in the case as well. If you decide to get it, you won't be disappointed. Installing it was no hassle at all!

yes i see.. only "cons" for me is that its gonna hide my mobo and all .. so i guess the liquid looks better

Why do you care about the color of components you don't even see? I mean in this build the cooler you picked out literally hides all of the motherboard that would normally be visible. Even the ram is hidden. So you basically could have went with anything for those and nobody would have noticed. looks sexier without the cooler XD. and on the other hand the graphics card pipes showing clash completely with the color scheme. Would have expected a model that doesn't show them to keep it together. It's all shown it the case's window.

Because we know what the components look like is why! To each their own. But Thanks for the feedback.

You still have an awesome build with what you have so far. Just make it so that you are able to upgrade when allowed. Great job!!
