Description

Built primarily for 1080p gaming with options for future 1440p and streaming with a fair upgrade path. CPU, GPU, MOBO, Case and PSU were all part of Black Friday deal week which is why I chose those parts (thank you Tech Deals for the advise on your YouTube stream). Primary goal was to keep price around the $1000 marker at the start while keeping the general aesthetic that you see here. Did splurge a bit going with the Dominator Platinum RAM and the EVGA CLC but really dig that metallic look plus it easily overclocked to 3200mhz, and also really liked the EVGA lighting to match the GPU. There will be extra storage added in the near future (going pure SSD) and will upgrade case fans too. On that note, feel free to suggest what fans you would add personally. Would you do RGB or keep this looking more subtle and sleek? Can't really decide for myself and would love your opinion. Any other questions or comments will be appreciated!

Blackout with a hint of blue highlights. Not bad.

I like your style! would you mind sending a link to the ones you would use?

Personally I use black/white Corsair ones that fit my rig much better, but look on CableMod configurator/WazzModz if you've got a bit more to $pend

Thanks for that comment. First build and had to really figure all that out on the fly. Probably spent way too much time tinkering with the cables lol.

No problem, but at least there are a ton of guids out right now on how to do it correctly :). Direct quote from a youtuber "See these cables? Bundle em up, and stick them in this fan right here."

Thank you! I am really impressed with your cable management. It seems like builders that aren't making $2000+ builds don't always put a ton of care in that category. Good on you!

great to see what $1000 gets you now compared to the start of last year

Truer words never spoken. I even sacrificed better performance for aesthetic too. Early-mid 2018 was an all out nightmare for builders.

Found that out the hard way. Ended up spending more than you for a lot less.

I did the same case and CLC but I mounted mine up top. What made you go with a front CLC?

the dominator platinum is too tall and blocked it from mounting.

Does it make a difference to mount AIO to top or front?

I can depending on your setup. There is a video on YouTube by Bitwit where he tests top and front mounting and provides the results. He gained a significant drop in CPU temp mounting to the front. Of course on a different case and what not so I don't know what the diff is on the fractal. If you test it let me know.
