Description

Hi guys,

First pc build here guys. I put actual paid pricing on every part listed there. Im not going to list windows, and monitor, yadda yadda, so your pricing will vary. I honestly started with a budget of 2 grand and then quickly realized that giving myself a limit was not going to satisfy my build. At the end of my build though I'm more than pleased with how it came out and I hope you guys like it. No overclocking or anything done just yet.

CPU: Had an i9-9900k on pre order but got a steal of a deal on a brand new 8700k for 280 so decided why not save some money.

CPU Cooler: Its beautiful, no other reason.

Motherboard: I have no clue to be honest, my buddy has a Maximus Hero and said it is good, so thats why I bought it.

Memory: Here is one I struggled with. Its not as pretty as the G-Skill but it performs just as well in testing and saved me a bit of money.

Storage: Still a work in progress, haven't decided on my HDD yet but wanted to get the computer up and running.

Video Card: As I was waiting on prices to drop a bit on the 1080 ti, Nvidia released this. I figured meh why not, so I jumped on the pre order.

Case: This case just looked cool. I originally wanted the Evolve X but wasn't sure when it would be out (its out now). Im kinda glad I went with the slightly smaller case though. Its seems to be just fine.

Power Supply: This was another hey friend what power supply should I get kinda buy.

Case Fans: NZXT because they look cool.

Custom Cables: Did you truly build your computer if you don't have some sick custom cables?

Where’d you get that steal on the i7?!

Took a chance on eBay a few days ago. Seller listed it without an actual picture so I was sure I was gonna get a saltine cracker. It was originally posted for 325 but they had some shipping troubles and ended up only charging me 280.

Do the top 240 mm fans(I think they are 240mm?) touch the motherboard heatsink or get in contact with anything?Looks so tight, even for the 4pin power cable.

I'm wanting this case but with a asrock x399 taichi and I have the fear that the top 240mm fans will rub in the motherboard heatsink.By looking at a photo, what is your opinion mate?

Nice gpu by the way ;) I'm using a pascal quadro.Wish it had the same cooler as yours does..

You are correct 240mm fans. They are very very tight up there. You have to be very careful not to bend the top headers on the motherboard when putting them in. Once in good luck actually using those headers.

your CPU is the bottleneck on your build. that GPU needs all 16 lanes feeding it. great build though otherwise. money wisely spent.

Thanks for the compliments! The cpu is definitely my bottleneck at this point but I couldn’t pass up the great deal on the 8700k.

Your name suggests that you are into cars? What games do you generally play? +1 btw

Honestly I dont play many racing games, all the Forzas. I would love to build a racing sim setup though and do some drifting on Assetto. Currently play Fortnite, Horizons 4, and Rocket League. Used to drift IRL but I blew my 240 up and decided to be done for a while.

Hey, you have Horizon four and that’s good enough for me. Really appreciate the time you put into this machine- and it sucks to hear about the 240. Those KA motors never last, the SRs don’t either lol

Thanks appreciate it! Mine was an SR, it lasted me about 4 years of drifting. I think its reasonable.

Yoooo Rocket League! Im building a pc with a i7-8700k and a vega 56. How much FPS do you think the build could get on Rocket League? Build is gonna be uploaded soon!

Rocket league max settings will run on a 1050 60fps+

I have a 1080, and it runs 250FPS+ on max settings.

That looks really sweet with all the lights off in the first picture. I bet it would look cool if you changed all the LEDs to White.

For some reason asus aura struggles with white. Its not as pure as I would like it.

Is the fan at the back of the case 120mm? Cause I am planning to put a 120mm there for my build.

Nice build, looks amazing!

Can I ask what push pull setup you went with using the X62 and the fans?

I.e. How many intake / exhaust?

Thanks
