I bought the MSI B350 Tomahawk for $110 Canadian on Kijiji. I managed to overclock to 3.6 ghz on the stock cooler. Anything higher and the temperatures went crazy. I bought the Samsung 960 EVO. I do notice that web surfing and programs run slightly faster, I used to have a Kingston V300 128 GB SATA III SSD. I was expecting more from NVME. I bought the MSI Radeon RX 460 about 2 months ago when my HIS Radeon 7750 died. Will never buy HIS again,
All the other parts were from my previous build. My previous build was an FX-8320. For everyday use I don't see much of a change, for rendering in Handbrake my times are cut in half.
The build went smooth. First I had to dismantle my previous build and place the parts in the original boxes. I have just sold off all the parts on Kijiji. I slowly assembled all the parts and put all the cables in place. It boot at first try.
I then installed Windows Insider Preview. I had to disconnect one of my disks, because windows would give an error if more than 1 disk was installed.
I updated the BIOS and the memory runs at 2666
So now I am saving my money so that in 3 years I can upgrade again.
This was the cheapest of the 8 core Ryzen's. Good for the budget since you can overclock it.
Got this for $110.00 Canadian. Good budget board.
Cheapest Ram on the Compatibility List. Can be overclocked to 2933. I didn't because there seems to be no increase in performance
I do notice the web browsing is faster than a sata 3 ssd. I don't know if that's because of the stronger single core of Ryzen 7 over an FX-8320.
