Description

I've moved, grabbed a third monitor, worked on cable management and am not waiting for Coffee Lake release & benchmarks with bated breath!

First year of three years of Game Design @ Niagara College starts this September and I'm excited to get a workhorse up and running to replace my 4670K which I've finally coerced up to 4.3GHz after some finicky overclocking. In terms of upgrades after my 2016 post, I grabbed this Strix 1080 on launch and popped in a 500GB Samsung EVO SSD. No other notable changes so far.

I'll be pumped to convert this to a media PC and some redundant storage for when Coffee Lake comes out and it's time to rebuild, hoping of course that Coffee Lake DOES come out before 2018 and it's better than Skylake! Cat's name is Roxy and she's a cutie fluff.

+1 for the nice cat. Western digital blue would have been better than that green version. I haven't heard anything about benq this year computex.

The WD Green is from my first PC, a store-bought Gateway. It's getting close to 10 years old, and is only a redundant backup drive.

Okay. Watch the hard drive carefully because they can die out the blue for no reason.

If you're curious this is my pre-2018 plan. Just sub Kaby for Coffee if it's out AND if it's good! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zVW9m8

How do you like that monitor stand? I have a variant of that desk and, after seeing what happened to some other people, am avoiding mounts like the plague. Also, +1 for that headset, but my cats always go for the cord; have to tuck it away!

Quoted from my thread at MMO-Champ:

"With the Ergotech triple monitor arm, I didn't grab the "telescoping arm" version, so my 24s are basically at the very end of the arm. In order to get the angle I wanted for how close I sit, the outside monitors are sitting "behind" the bezel of the 1440p monitor, so that their screens blend seamlessly into the main monitor's sides."

You know I tried and they really enjoy clipping against the exhaust fans at the top. Not great.

This H60 is on its last legs anyway. Hopefully upgrading all of this when Coffee Lake rolls around.
