Description

I had purchased a Dell XPS 11 years ago and she finally gave in. I debated purchasing another but the thought of my own build intrigued me. That and I feel I got much better gear for the cost. I got some help with the parts through this site for what I think is a nice build.

I put it all together in one night and when I went to power it on... nothing happened. Ended up tracing the issue back to the power button on the Fractal Design R4 case. A wire came loose and once fixed fired up nicely.

I really enjoyed putting this together and the cable management on the R4 is really nice. I like to play some games, CAD design, video editing and some other graphic design. I was slightly intimidated on putting this together but it went smooth and I'm happy I did it.

Awesome build!!

I have the exact same motherboard and the same 16GB sniper ram. They both work fantastic and I love them!

You got the motherboard $20 cheaper than me. However, I got the ram $20 cheaper than you did lol. I'm jelly you have an SSD though ):

MSI is great! G.skill is always a nice choice. I had a similar scare with my first build. It would power on and power off, and I wasn't able to figure it out till i plugged in the mic on my motherboard...turns out my RAM wasnt plugged in all the way hah

(Disclaimer: No graphic card's or CPU feeling were hurt in this Commenting extravaganza)

For maximum performance i would refer the R7 240, not only does this max out all the latest games such as minesweeper, Runescape, and solitaire. With only 4 small payments of $3000 this beastie graphics card could be yours. Not only does it out perform Intel hd 3000 graphics but you will be experience new 2D visual affects like no other and falcon punch a GTX 980 right in the mouth.

P.S. this GPU actually really good for how cheap it is...

So what advantages does the locked i7 have vs. the 4770K in CAD?

Oh yeah. I honestly thought there was a performance difference, and was just checking.
