Alright, i know what you all are thinking after looking at this parts list.

  1. Why do you need a machine like this to store some files.

The answer is the guy wanted it, so that is what he got.

  1. Where is the video card.

Onboard, Using a video card would do nothing for this machine.

  1. Did you take those pictures with a potato.

Yes, yes i did. Well the real story is this. My main phones screen is still broke and that is the phone that will take decent pictures. My old andriod phone camera just sucks, so please forgive the horrible pictures, i did the best i could.

I really enjoyed building this computer. I know it is way overkill for what he wants it for. But my client wanted these stats so this is what he got. Is it insane for what he is using it for, sure. Did i have a problem still putting this monster together.. hell no.

Part Reviews

it is fast, Not much i can say about it. This thing is a beast.

Very easy to work with, full featured. Connectors seam to be in good spots for cable management

I am a Kingston person, Is there better stuff out there, i am sure there is. But i been using it for 10 years or more and i have never had a Kingston stick fail on me.

Fast SSD, but i have not worked with them that much, so i cant really give it 5 stars. I think it will be good, but we will see

OMG, i just love this case, i love working with it, it was sweet, it had great cable management and the aggressive look really put it over for me.

Power Supply

non modular power supply, never again. to much left over and nowhere to put it. I am sure someone will tell me how they feel about this PSU in the comments (seems to be a normal thing here) Do i like Corsair Yes. But i do not think i will be using it a non modular power supply again.

Optical Drive

Good brand, cheap and well it is a optical drive, used this model before and liked it, i see no future issue with it.

Operating System

Well, this is Microsoft's newest OS and i honestly love it, been using it since it came out, no issues as of late, small learning curve and overall i think Microsoft did this right.

He is a old IT guy that is all about overkill, Like in all parts of life. He is the type that would tell you, why have only one girlfriend when you can have 4. Like i said... IN ALL PARTS of life. I want his bank roll, the other completed build on my list was also for him.

pickanddrop 2 points 42 months ago

lol I don't even have the guts for one girlfriend. I say we're completely opposite. I kinda understand the guys now.

Very overkill indeed. I was wondering about that, too.

floridaboz submitter 4 Builds 1 point 40 months ago

That was the goal of the build, to make a powerhouse NAS for under a K

Gooberdad 10 Builds 2 points 40 months ago

Very nice

Xorex64 2 points 39 months ago

Its a 200$ case............fricking 200 dollars..........16 and a half hours of minimum wage...........for a case.......its a nice case though. +1

When you build it for someone else, and it is their, money is no object

potatorez r kuul

floridaboz submitter 4 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

I have to agree, you can do so much with a potato. Eat them, power light burbs with them and take pictures with them.

johngerges582 2 points 42 months ago

They also make great ammunition.

What bottleneck???

Makyo888 5 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

the GPU bottleneck? lol +1 for helping the crazy individual who wanted to build this PC with no GPU.

Integrated graphics

Makyo888 5 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

It was a joke since there is no graphics card :P You're absolutely right.

floridaboz submitter 4 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

It does not require any kind of high end graphics for what he needed. Then again it did not require a 4790K, it did not require 16 gigs or RAM.. But that is what he wanted. But dont you guys agree, it looks pretty naked with without that graphics card.

floridaboz submitter 4 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

lol, that is what i was thinking, but i did not see a reason for me to comment... I thought i had my glass pepsi bottle in the pic or something.

Garfield1 1 Build 2 points 42 months ago

He can't spell impressive, can't expect him to know what bottleneck means lol

I_dunno 2 points 42 months ago

That guy has helped me make a lot of money and me and him now work for the same person. Also that guy has helped me out like more than anyone else, so if he wants to put a i7 in a file server, than damn.. that is what he is going to get.... if he wants to put a 3rd gen i3 processor in a machine to play 2018 triple A games, that is what he will get...

The guy is honestly really cool. One of the few that i would do almost anything for.
