Description

I love it. This is my first build. The MoBo looks nice and performs pretty well, but the BIOS interface, the software for RGB, and anything else are Bullsh... The same with the Video Card. I'm using MSI afterburner instead. I recommend this case if you really like to have a mid tower case and the look. I said that because it was really hard to build in it. It was really stressful and took me a while.

Update: 3/19/2019 New pictures with the completed setup.

Great first build. Highly recommend a rear exhaust fan. It will help with airflow greatly as that case is somewhat restrictive.

This case doesn’t support a rear exhaust fan

That's a silly case then.

Well, I knew about that, but I didn't care. There's other ways to go around that. This case is design to create positive air pressure. It would be fine in that way, and also would extract air through the rear. I already checked that.

Yes you'r right, but I can't. This case doesn't support a rear fan. instead I'm using six fans. There's two intake fans (no RGB) under the GPU. So I have four intake and two exhaust fans. This way I'm creating positive pressure, and air is also flowing out through the case rear and the radiator on the top

Someone needs to make a little 70mm fan for the back of this case!

Great build though and good call on how you have it set up.

Clean build. Did you have any issues installing bottom fans in regards to mobo connections? I have the same mobo. Most places I've seen say something along the lines of "connections in the way or just use itx"

Thanks.

Yes, the audio, the USB, and Front Panel cables bothered me a lot. You need to be really careful when putting them in cuz you can break or disconnect them in the process. It happened to me, so I had to unscrew them and put them back on three times.

I didn't break them though.

It's hard but possible. You just need to find the right spot.

I personally don't like ITX MoBo for this case.

  • 2 points

Thanks for the reply, I also had zero desire to put ITX in the 280x. In my impatience, I grabbed my 2nd choice the Phanteks evolv matx TG...its bigger than I would like but sexy. Im gonna test thermals this weekend once I get my rad, if I dont like what I see im definitely grabbing the 280x.

Side Note: I was gonna return the evolv when I saw the 680x....but then i actually saw it in store, F'in HUGE!

Awesome build! I’m thinking about doing a build similar to this and I was wondering if you needed some type of USB hub for all of the RGB components like fans, cooler etc?

  • 1 point

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Well, this board only has two USB 2.0 and one USB 3 ports.

USB 2.0 The Corsair Lightning Pro connector use one

USB 2.0 The Pump H100i pro use the last one

If your case uses USB2.0 in the front panel, you would need a USB hub. Mine does not use, only USB 3

I was pretty lucky on that because I didn't think about it. I totally recommend you to get a board that has more than one, minimum two. Probably you won't find many with more than two.

  • 2 points

Ah okay, thanks for the help! So this case uses a usb3 port on the Mobo for the front panel? If I were to build a pc exactly like yours, I’d have to look for Mobo with 2 usb 2.0 and 1 usb 3 I’d assume?

  • 1 point

Correct. You need a Micro ATX Mobo with at least 2 USB 2.0 and one USB 3. If you only can get one with one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0, then you would need an USB hub.

  • 2 points

Sounds good, Thankyou. I’m still learning how to setup the included Corsair RGB fans with the lightning node pro with everything else. I’m thinking about getting the MSI Bazooka H370M because that has a usb3, 2 USB2, and an RGB header so hopefully that’s all I need!

  • 1 point

Ye, I like that Mobo too. Just wanna tell you that Corsair's RGB devices are only compatible between them. I think the memories would be compatible with Mistic Light from MSI but everything else I'm not sure. You can still add those plugins that some people make on the internet to map all Corsairs devices with MSI and ASUS software. If not you would need to use iCUE. That is what I'm using

Pretty good actually. I was waiting for something like this to do my build.

On PUBG I get around 90 and 100 FPS with Max settings 1080p

On CSGO 200 and 240 FPS

I recommend it for now

I haven't do so many benchmarks yet.

did you have any problems with the fans and not enough sata cable connections? I'm worried that my SSD's and Hard drives will take up my sata cables.

  • 1 point

Yes, I was lucky with the sata cables.

This is the list of sata devices I have.

1 CORSAIR - Lighting Node PRO 2 CORSAIR - Fans HUB 3 Corsair Pump 4 SSD 5 HDD 6 spare

My CX650M Power supply only has two sata( 1x4 and 1x2) one molex cables. I could still buy one sata cable if I needed more.

I think you will be fine. If not you would need to buy a bigger PS

What chair?

  • 2 points

Well, it looks good, though if you are looking for a gaming chair, I won't recommend that one.

I was looking for something cool, no gaming, no crappy, and no expensive chair.

Is good but a little short for me. I'm 6'1".

Were you able to get the mobo RGB to work with any software? Apparently there is no tool from Gigabyte to control their own mobo's RGB functionality for this board.

  • 1 point

Yes, it has. When you install all drivers and software tools that came with MOBO, you can. The software that is like a control panel brings a control section for the LED, called Ambient Light or LED. But, only it will control the upper RGB led. The red line in the bottom can't be changed.

  • 1 point

That's what I discovered as well. A sincere bummer, considering my lighting scheme does not include any red.

You were looky I decided to see again this. Hahaha.

Yes, it is from Ikea. You can build your own as you wish. My top table it's pretty light. If you don't like that I recommend you to go with a wood one. Wood would be better.

Hey, I'm doing pretty much the same build. Same CPU, GPU, case, etc. Your CPU cooler looks like it has RGB fans, though. Are you sure that you don't have the Platinum series cooler? It looks like only the pump head is RGB on the H100i as far as I can tell. I haven't unboxed it and hooked it up yet, though.

  • 1 point

No, the H100i Pro doesn't have RGB fans. I bought two extra RGB fans.

Does iCUE see the motherboard sensors and fans?

Yes, Motherboard sensors and GPU as well. The fans have to be corsair.

My motherboard sensors and fans don't show up in iCUE, I just get a blank section under the motherboard panel in dashboard. Please could you add a screenshot of the motherboard section from the dashboard?
