Only owned a laptop before but I wanted to upgrade and decided to build myself a PC.
The main reason for building it myself was that I already had the GPU lying around and really didn't want to buy a pre-built PC, paying for another GPU. So I decided to build around the 1070 and went with Ryzen for the better price/performance ratio over Intel. After almost 2 weeks I am very happy with how the whole thing turned out and have absolutely no qualms about the performance.
As for the building, I think it's the best decision I could have made .Although I have to admit I was a bit sloppy on the cable management at the start (so I had to do part of it over later) it was a fun experience and not nearly as difficult as I imagined it'd be.
Also, I am aware the DVD drive isn't plugged into anything in the picture. It was kind of a late, short-term addition and because I am lazy af I have not yet gotten the cables from the back of my camped basement. Other than that, additional lighting is yet to be added in the form of RGB stips.
