Description

I put this computer together to do an ample amount of gaming as well as schoolwork and i love it. It runs great, no problems. I mostly play Overwatch and PUBG and it does a great job on both, I really cant complain. The case is great, I am a really big fan of the door feature. It is sturdy and is laid out well. If I could change anything, I would get a different CPU cooler. The ARTIC cooler does fine, but I didn't do enough research and I didn't realize it could only be mounted vertically (beginners mistake). All in all, it is doing exactly what I built it for and it is doing it well. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I also added two 120mm white LED fans from amazon that are mounted in the top of the case that are not listed in the parts list.

Part Reviews

CPU

Fast and well priced. I was looking for a good processor under $200 and I was very happy with this purchase. I would most likely use it again in builds to come and would recommend it to anybody looking for a quality processor on a budget.

CPU Cooler

It does its job well, quietly, and at a decent price. Keeps my Ryzen 5 1600 at around 40C idol and 60 under stress. It is a real pain to put on and can only mount vertically if you are going with an AMD processor. It is a great fan but Id recommend this for an intel processor rather than an AMD.

Thermal Compound

Good quality thermal paste for a low price. It did its job well

Motherboard

Very happy with this motherboard. I did a lot of research and there seemed to be plenty of fingers pointed here. It is a great motherboard with everything you need if you are going for a pretty decent build. I don't think you can go wrong here for the price. It is a great board and gave me no reason to complain.

Memory

Fast RAM for a pretty low price. It does what it supposed to do and gives me no reason to complain.

Storage

I was debating on whether or not to go with an SSD + HHD setup or not and I am so glad I did. I can tell a huge difference. It is reasonably priced for the size and works very well.

Storage

Good quality and good price, nothing to complain about. There's nothing to complain about here.

Video Card

With GPU prices high, this was the best card I could afford in my build with my budget and I am glad this is the one I picked. Runs PUBG for me over 60 frames easily and even better on Overwatch. I also enjoy the LEDs around the fans and the back-lit logo. Its hard to find anything to complain about here.

Case

My choice of case was between this one and the NZXT S340 (White) and I am so glad I went with this one. It has plenty of room and was easy to build in. The manual was pretty clearly marked and made it easy if I had any questions. I was a first time builder and really appreciated the layout of the case. The side door is awesome! 10/10 would recommend.

Power Supply

Great power supply. Cables were clearly marked and easy to work with. I enjoyed that all the cables were black so they go well with all builds. Cant find anything to complain about. Id say you are definitely getting bang for your buck with this power supply.

Keyboard

Love this keyboard so far. The brushed steel look is very nice and it feels high quality. Its a mechanical keyboard so the keys feel really nice and the LED back-lights are very bright. Overall very happy with this purchase. Awesome quality for the price.

I have the black version of that keyboard and love it, what do you think of it?

Its awesome, it's loud but that what I enjoy about it and the back-lit keys look super nice. I went with white because it matched my case and I think it looks pretty good and I definitely can't complain about the price!

In which direction does the CPU fan blow? Because it looks like the CPU fan and the upper case fans are working against each other

Definitely looks like it's blowing straight onto the GPU.

Looks like that to me, too. I assume the top case fans blow the air from the inside to outside of the case, while the CPU fan blows the air in the opposite direction. If that's the case the CPU isn't cooled as effectively as it could be. Also the GPU gets warmer than it needs to.

I would suggest to the submitter to rotate the CPU cooler, so that the CPU fan blows the air towards the backside of the case (or even towards the topside, if you don't have enough space). That way the fans don't work against each other. That is of course if you care about temperatures.

Yes it currently is. I didn't do enough research on the CPU fan and this one can only be mounted vertically on AMD. I will be getting a new one soon, to instead, be mounted horizontally and blow the air out the rear exhaust of the case.

Currently I have the CPU fan blowing down, but i wish it was blowing to the left, strait out the rear exhaust fan. Right now the CPU fan and the upper case fans are actually working with each other(both pointed down). Honestly everything runs pretty cool right now but since the CPU fan is pointed down, that hot air is going directly on the back of my GPU. So, having a CPU fan that can mount horizontally would be better for my GPU temps.

Yes, that would be ideal to mount it horizontally towards the rear fan. Other than that, nice build though, I hope you get much enjoyment out of it!
