Description

With the coming if Ryzen, we felt AM3+ needed a good send off, and what better way to do it with a custom loop and a pre-production chassis for Halo-cc!

To see a build log of the computer, check out our youtube video at the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Wm_g1WQtqM&t=2s

The CPU I got for a smoking deal of $80, and each GPU was purchased for a mere $120 a piece. Note that I haven't edited the prices yet so what is listed does not reflect what I actually paid.

The Chassis was generously sent to us by Halo-cc after we saw their product at Dreamhack Austin 2016. Please check these guys out, message them and support them any way you can! We are working on getting them a go-fund-me account setup.

https://www.facebook.com/Halo-cc-537687656409319/

We felt an over-the-top custom loop was the only way to compliment this build.

Thanks for checkin us out!

a 480 millimeter rad?

OH WAIT. Thats a 9590? Bruh, thats not safe.

  • 1 point

You need 1440mm of rad space just for the CPU alone (12x120mm rad)

  • 1 point

exactly. Maybe a little more to be safe.

I've been planning a mod very similar to that... That... What do you even call that? It's not a 'case' as it's not enclosed, it's not a chassis as it's not any sort of frame or frame work. Umm, 'utilitarian display stand'? Whatever it is, it's amazing to look at :D

+1, and excellent work on getting those bargains.

  • 1 point

Would you call it a stand?

  • 1 point

Actually, yes.
That seems reasonable, right up until that awkward moment you realise that it could then be said that you 'erected your computer'. Anything to do with the internet anywhere should not be so directly linked to 'erecting'...

Interesting... Can't help but think the rad should've been flipped however, giving a clear view of the CPU and mobo (otherwise blocked by the tubes, as in the photos)...

That motherboard is gonna bottleneck the CPU though. You should've gone full blown ASRock Extreme9.

What is the cooler's brand?

"Tired of having to vacuum your room? With the Halo-CC, all you need to do now is vacuum your test bench!" Cuz it's a dust magnet..get it? ya, nevermind, bad joke.

On a serious note, badass...bench? case? panel?

Probably the coolest build I've seen

  • 1 point

G.R.E.A.T!

Only the mainboard is kinda underwhelming. You could have gotten the ASRock Extreme9 since it's the only one that fully supports the FX-9590 at 5GHz.

The cooling and case are insane though!

How to burn down your house(gone wrong)

lol, great send off

Pipe clamps as fittings and rubber tubes as tubing

There are some kinks that have to be worked out, but the product is truly fantastic. I really hope we can help get this company off the ground.

unfortunately the case is not in production. The company (halo-cc) sent us a product review. They are trying to get these into mass production but have run into financial issues. If you know any way to help them please feel free to do so.

They should do it like NCASE did with the M1.

This is the coolest case I have ever seen the second I saw it I knew i must have it. Do they have a kick starter or anything I can support I need this for my build its amazing

  • 1 point

I wonder if them starting a Kickstarter would help? I mean, I've seen weirder things get funded on there, I'm sure something cool like this could get some traction!
